Exotek TLR 22-4 aluminium & carbon fibre options

Exotek TLR 22-4 aluminium & carbon fibre options

New from Exotek comes a range of aluminium and carbon fibre option parts for the TLR 22-4 buggy. First up is the twist nut battery post set whose design uses alloy twist nuts instead of body clips for holding down the battery straps. The twist nuts have knurling for easy grip and include rubber inserts to keep twist nuts from rattling loose. The threaded alloy posts use steel lower screws for durability and have the upper post extension so that stock body clips can be used for the body. The set is available in glossy black or yellow and it is compatible with saddle or single shorty style packs.

Tekno RC XT CNC-machined tools

Tekno RC XT CNC-machined tools

Tekno RC introduce the XT line of CNC-machined tools. The tools offer specially designed handles to make for effortless wrenching and the handles are available in two different sizes. They are gun metal anodised for a sleek appearance and wear resistance while soft knurling on the handle’s grip area produces great leverage without tearing up the hands. A large flat spot on the bottom helps prevent the tools from rolling onto the ground. Each tool is laser etched for easy identification and a large thumb relief in the handle makes for an ergonomic feel. An M5 set screw holds the CNC machined high carbon steel adjustable length 4mm shank tips in place. The tools are available in several sizes including 1.5mm to 2.5mm hex wrenches, 2mm and 2.5mm ball hex wrenches and as 5mm to 8mm nut drivers. The handles and tool tips are also available separately.

X Factory Infinity SRX-2mm battery straps

X Factory Infinity SRX-2mm battery straps

X Factory Infinity announces a new battery strap for the mid-motor Serpent Spyder SRX-2. The two strips of carbon fibre are direct replacements for the big x-shaped standard strap and they solve two problems with the original part. As a tuning aid, the straps allow more chassis flex than the standard part and they also allow most batteries to be removed with just two thumb screws undone instead of four. The parts use the standard thumb screws and include holes for the stand-offs used to hold a shorty pack.

So far no features or specifications are known but the kit is meant to be on its way to the distributors and we await details on the truck, as well as the three new 1/8th vehicles, very soon.

Capricorn LAB TE03 chassis & bulkhead brace

Capricorn LAB TE03 chassis & bulkhead brace

Capricorn have new option parts for the LAB TE03 1/10th electric touring car available in the form of two different main chassis plates and a reinforcement brace for the bulkheads. Starting with the chassis, new are slim aluminium and carbon fibre lower plates that allow to fine-tune the car to different amounts of traction. Both are 83mm wide which prevents them from scrubbing too much during hard cornering with the aluminium chassis being best suited for high-bite tracks while the carbon fibre variant should excel in lower grip conditions. Also new is a carbon fibre reinforcement plate for the bulkheads, a part that allows to stiffen the bulkheads, again in a wake to adjust to the overall traction available.

BRCA GT National Series Rd3 report

Walker-Catchpole wins at BRCA GT National Series

The third round of the BRCA GT National Series was held at the Killamarsh Sports Centre and was hosted by the SWIFTS club. The club set out a well-conceived track layout which included a flowing infield and a long straight, which required some serious thought by the drivers when deciding what gear ratio to run. In GT12 the field was joined by a couple of experienced LMP12 drivers, for their first taste of GT12 National racing, who were hoping to qualify in the A-final. This was no mean feat for them, as the standard of driving at the top end was highly competitive and qualifying times were extremely close. In fact throughout the field, there were some very close battles in qualifying and the finals.
