Serpent F110 SF2 formula kit

Serpent introduce the all-new F110 SF2 1/10th scale formula car kit. Designed by Michael Salven and David Ehrbar the car is based on a 2.5mm carbon fibre chassis and it features a new front end design compared to its predecessor with 2.5mm lower carbon fibre and upper composite A-arms, adjustable ride height for both rubber and foam tyres as well as quick adjustable castor using moulded inserts. To fine-tune the steering characteristics the king pin angle is adjustable using inserts and the included independent front suspension set with tube dampers helps to smooth-out the suspension action.

TLR 8ight-E 3.0 cab forward bodyshell

Team Losi Racing soon have a new cab forward bodyshell for the 8ight-E 3.0 electric 1/8th scale buggy available. Sporting a distinctive design the body offers a channelled roof section for improved stability and simplified side pods for a clean design, improved airflow and lots of space for the electric components. The body comes clear and will hit the stores in May.

Lorenzo Crolla wins at French EP Off-Road Nats Rd1

The opening round of the French 1/10th Electric Off-Road Nationals was held at BCL this past weekend and in the 4WD Buggy class it was Lorenzo Croll who grabbed the TQ by winning three out of the five qualifiers. The triple A-mains then were quite a mixed affair for Lorenzo as he scored 5th place finishes in the first two legs but a first place and a 2 second faster time than his toughest competitor Ludovic Valtier handed Lorenzo the overall win in the third and decisive final. Ludovic Valtier came in 2nd while Julien Formentin rounded out the podium in 3rd.

Green wins at British Indoor National Champs Rd3

Round 3 of the British Indoor National Championships was held at the Swift Raceway in South Yorkshire last weekend. Mark Green (Serpent) took the overall TQ in the Formula class and in the A-final he lead all the way from his pole position on the grid and managed to win the A-main from Mark Burgess (CRC) and Dave Underwood (Xray) who rounded out the podium. The final round will be held at Chesterfield on Sunday 26th April.

FX has announced that Tyler Vik continues to use FX engines in the 2015 season. Tyler Vik is a well-known, professional off-road racer and he will use the Slovakian engines at all regional, national and international races. Tyler had the following to say:

Despite FX Engines was a brand new in the market, I didn’t hesitate to give them a try, and now I know I made the correct choice. The speed and reliability never let me down during last year and as such I decided to stay with the engine I have full trust in – the FX engine.

Sweep Racing have two new 1/10th 2WD front tyres available in the form of the Nonslip and Tri-Rib. Starting with the Nonslip, the conventional bead 2.2″ slick tyre is made for the use on prepped clay tracks and it offers a “pre-scrubbed” surface due to the mould being sand-blown. This means the tyre can be used instantly and without breaking-in period. The Nonslip is available in medium white, soft red, extra soft blue, ultra soft silver and a special clay compound.

RB announce 2015 nitro engine range

French company RB introduce their 2015 line of nitro engines for off-road and on-road applications. The range will include three .21 off-road, two .21 on-road, four .12 on-road and one Rally/GT engine, starting with the BXR LS5 Plus off-road engine. The high-level off-road competition engine uses a long stroke design with 5-port MES technology, a 14.5mm silicone-balanced lightweight crankshaft and a ceramic main bearing. The newly developed carburettor is using double adjustment with an extra spraybar for improved idling and adjustment. The new cooling head is of a low centre of gravity design yet large enough to provide efficient cooling. The BXR LS5 Plus offers a unique combination of power and consumption and the engine is ideal for both tight and open tracks with high grip and a good amount of jumps.

1/10 Buggy Worlds Warm-up race – Updated schedule

The organisers of the IFMAR 1/10 Electric Buggy World Championships have released an updated schedule regarding the JMRCA 1/10 EP National Championship that is also the Warm-up race for the Worlds. Following a request made by the JMRCA to not provide practice days prior to the JMRCA Nationals, the practice days prior to the Warm-up race have now been cancelled. Practice is now scheduled for the week following the Nationals which is June 8th to 14th.
