Yokomo YRF 001W rear friction tube damper spec kit

Yokomo YRF 001W rear friction tube damper spec kit

The Yokomo YRF Formula 001W competition formula chassis kit has been updated with the new rear friction tube damper system which is based on the same system that has been tried and battle-tested on the R12C3.1 1/12th scale kit. By outfitting the 001W with this type of suspension system the overall weight is reduced and the side-to-side balance has improved, allowing better control and sharper turn manoeuvres. The kit comes with two types of front suspension arms to support both foam and rubber tyres with the wide specification suspension arms are used with foam tyres to achieve higher corner speeds, while the narrow specification suspension arms are used with rubber tyres to make for a more scale appearance.

Dirk Wischnewski renews with Shepherd

Team Shepherd announces the contract renewal with front running nitro touring car racer Dirk Wischnewski through 2015. Playing an important role for the development of the Velox V10 Pro in 2014, Dirk will continue to share his experience with the German manufacturer and he will attend races such as the German national championship, the EFRA Euros in Turkey as well as all ENS races. Dirk had the following to say:

I would like to thank Patrick and all the Shepherd staff to give me the chance to continue our cooperation in the future. Result wise it was a solid first year with Team Shepherd. I finished second in the overall ENS Championship and had a good chance to win the European championship in Spain. Further we had two Velox V10 in the main final at the World championship what showed that we developed the car in the right direction. All in all I’m very happy with the way we work together and I’m looking forward to having a successful future.

Zeppin Digital Tweaker Scale Elite

Zeppin Digital Tweaker Scale Elite

Zeppin introduce their new Digital Tweaker Scale Elite weight measurement system. The patent pending height-adjustable design of the scales ensures an equal height of every platform which makes wheel load measurement as accurate as possible. They system includes four individually powered scales with hardened glass platforms for best possible rigidity against scratches, and rubber feet prevent the scales from moving on the pit table. The main unit sports an easy-to-read black and white LCD screen that helps with visibility even in bright sunshine. The heavy duty yet precise design of the scales allows to measure the individual wheel load of lightweight 1/12th scale to heavy 1/8th trucks alike. VRC Pro track & buggy updates

VRC Pro track & buggy updates

As promised in the November instalment of the VRC Pro column, the 2014 IFMAR 1/8 Buggy World Championship track of Naxos in Sicily is now available as are two new buggies and some other updates. Starting with the tracks, it’s a great but demanding venue with lots of challenges, just like the real track proved to be back in September. VRI have made a comparison video between some real laps during the Worlds final, and who better to pick than World Champion Ty Tessman, against one of VRC’s beta testers, Nicolas Loriot from France. As with earlier ‘virtual vs real’ comparison videos the resemblance between virtual and real is astonishing close, once more proof of the incredibly accurate detail of the track and the fantastic realism obtained with our state of the art physics engine.
