Hagberg & Cerny take Touring Car Euros warm-up

This past weekend the warm-up race for the EFRA Electric Touring Car European Championship was held at the ARCA track in Alcobendas. Both the Modified and Stock Spec class had quite a low turn out with 11 and 12 drivers respectively. In the Modified class Alexander Hagberg made a clean sweep by taking TQ, the fastest lap and a triple win in the A-final to leave David Perez and Juan Antonio Hidalgo Garrido in 2nd and 3rd place respectively. In the Spec class Marek Cerny came out successful starting from pole position into the triple finals. He left Jaime De Esteban Y Calderon behind in 2nd while Mattia Collina completed the podium in 3rd.

Philipp & Pius Walleser win in Singen

Philipp & Pius Walleser win in Singen

A round of the SM Championship was run in Singen, Germany in mixed weather conditions. In the highly competitive GT class Philipp Walleser took all three qualifying rounds and also successfully ended the finals to take the day’s win. By taking the Singen round of the series the young man also made a big step towards the overall championship win. Elsewhere in the Sport class Philipp’s father and pitman Pius also came out successful despite a stressful weekend with constant setup changes due to the demanding weather conditions.

Teamsaxo GT-802 1/8th on-road tyre

Made for 1/8th scale GT cars or 1/8th buggies run on asphalt are the new GT-802 tyres from Teamsaxo. They are moulded from a special compound that has fibres mixed into it to reduce tyre expansion at high speeds or when the tyre temperature raises. A special V-shape tread improves traction on permanent and parking lot tracks and the tyre comes pre-mounted on durable white or black multi-spoke nylon rims.

T.O.P. Racing formula 1 front & rear wings

T.O.P. Racing have new front and rear wings for formula 1 cars available. They resemble the “low nose, high rear wing” appearance of 1990’s F1 cars and are made from durable material. The wings are usable on the T.O.P. Rebel R-F01 as well as Tamiya-standard F1 kits and they come in black or white colour.

JJ Wang sweeps 2014 Byron On-road World Challenge

The 2014 Byron On-road World Challenge was run this past weekend at the Leisure Hours Raceway in Joliet, Illinois. Mugen’s JJ Wang took the TQ and race win in both the 1/8th and 1/10th 200mm classes. Vincent Jackson and Eric Jones came in 2nd and 3rd respectively in the in the 1/8th class while Ditta Claymore and Loran Whiting completed the 200mm class podium.

Team C TM4 aluminium steering link plate

New from Team C Racing and made for the TM4 4WD buggy is this aluminium Ackermann steering link plate. Designed to replace the kit’s plastic link with a more rigid and durable part, the plate not only keeps the ballstuds held in place more securely but it also improves steering reaction by eliminating the flex of the stock part. The link is machined from high-quality aluminium and comes orange anodised to match the remainder of the buggy’s alloy parts.

Sergi Franch takes 2014 Catalonian regional title

The 2014 Catalonian regional nitro on-road championships where held at the Cerdanyola modelcar track. Sergi Franch was able to TQ the meeting with flawless driving, being the only driver to pull 17 second laps and by also setting a new track record with 17.489 seconds. In the main Sergi did not look back to take the win from Jaime Lacuesta and Cesar Rubio which handed him the Catalonian 1/10th 200mm regional title.

No new 1/8th buggy but upgrades from SWorkz

Following the Facebook announcement of Kyosho’s Yuichi Kanai to stick with their tried and tested 1/8th buggy platform (for the 2014 IFMAR Worlds in Italy) now also SWorkz announce that there will be no new buggy for 2014 despite the good tradition of many manufacturers to introduce new platforms ahead of important races. However the Asian company will have several new option parts such as the “LDS” Lightened Drive System with new driveshafts, bearings, gears and more, along other new upgrades to make the buggy “Worlds ready”. More information will become available in the near future.
