Kyosho vented off-road clutchbells

Kyosho soon have new vented 1/8th off-road clutch bells in 13T and 14T specification available. They are of a special design with five milled out sections for added heat dissipation compared to standard “closed bell” clutches. This feature not only reduces the rotation mass but also allows for a longer clutch life with both composite and aluminium shoes.

Nicolas Schwendimann joins Team Magic

Swiss Team Magic distributor HRC announce that 2013 French Champion Nicolas Schwendimann has joined Team Magic to race the company’s latest electric touring car in his 2014 campaign. He will also assist with future development of the car and had this to say about the deal:

I am very glad to join Team Magic and HRC Distribution. It allows me to start the 2014 season in the best conditions and to represent the brand during national and international races. Mike Malkinson wins TC Stock at WCICS Rd5

Round 5 of the Western Canadian Indoor Championship Series (WCICS) was held by the IROCC and Nanaimo RC in Victoria, BC, Canada. With 220 entries running in 8 different classes, there where 24 entries in Modified Touring Car and 36 in Stock TC. In Stock Touring Car Awesomatix driver Mike Malkinson finished in first place after taking TQ while team mate Frank Bortolazzo finished third.

DJ Apolaro wins at Florida State Series Rd5

This past weekend was the 5th round of the Florida State Series held at the Homestead RC Raceway. Paolo Morganti and DJ Apolaro battled for TQ in the 1/8th class and at the end it was Pablo who grabbed the prestigious position followed by DJ. At the start of the final DJ got a good jump on Paolo, but could not get the inside line and had to back off the power to not take both out. This allowed the 3rd place driver through. DJ then made an error on the same lap and got caught at the timing loop and lost time to get a turn marshal, falling back to 9th place so he had to work his way back through the field.

BRX5 2014 "Classic" 1/8 on-road kit

French company BRX introduce the 2014 version of the BRX5 1/8th “Classic” on-road car. The vehicle is of a very simply design with unsprung front and rear axles and a 1-speed transmission. The 2014 edition makes use of most of its predecessors parts but features a new, thicker main chassis and the front axle plate, radio and rear upper support plate are now also cut from silver-colour carbon fibre for a cleaner looking car. Otherwise the kit remained unchanged in terms of geometry and specifications.

RB Blast V20 limited edition engine

RB introduce the Blast V20 3.5cc off-road nitro engine. Being of a limited edition the engine features a lightened 14.5mm turbo crankshaft, 7-port liner, the company’s Multi Exhaust System and a lightweight machined piston. All that is housed in a lightweight yet strong crankcase while other features include a turbo combustion camber insert, a composite slide carburettor with 7mm venturi insert and a 60mm orange-anodised lightweight cooling head. The engine is available separately or including a suitable in-line exhaust set.

MR..Roche BD7 aluminium option parts

MR..Roche will soon have a handful of aluminium option parts for the Yokomo BD7 available. Planned so far are a 1-piece floating servo mount, split inner suspension mounts as well as outer 1-piece suspension mounts. The servo mount is a direct replacement for the kit part while the A-arm mounts come in several specifications to allow for a wide range of suspension geometry changes.

Robert Pietsch confirmed at Picco

Robert Pietsch confirmed at Picco

As we noted earlier this month, 2011 IFMAR 1/8th onroad World Champion Robert Pietsch has signed a 2-year contract with Italian World Champion engine maker Picco. Robert will join present WC Tadahiko Sahashi and US champion Mike Swauger while assisting with engine development and among other events he is set to race at the IFMAR Worlds, EFRA races as well as the first full season of the newly established Euro Nitro Series.
