SWorkz S350 BK1 Evolution kit coming soon

SWorkz have released this first teaser image of their upcoming S350 BK1 Evolution 1/8th nitro buggy. No details are known yet but by the looks of things the buggy will at least sport a new body shell design, featuring the unavoidable cab forward silhouette with a very low rear section around the engine’s cooling head. Other details literally remain in the dark until SWorkz drop the curtain in the form of a full features and specification list.

Demirel & Sarafyan win at Izmir track opening race

The opening race of the newly built nitro off-road track near Izmir, Turkey, attracted nearly 30 racers to compete in the 1/8th nitro buggy, truggy and E-buggy classes. The nitro buggy category saw Ahmet Demirel taking the win in front of Nebi Akgün and Tolga Yilmaz while the E-buggy class win went to Alain Sarafyan who was sidelined by Taner Kaya and Cengiz Gökbulut on the podium.

Ficco & Bodine win at 2013 Timezone Grand Prix

The 2013 Timezone Grand Prix was held at Timezone II on a large carpet indoor track. In the World GT class, Mario Ficco used some 4th round magic and a little help from his teammate Brian Bodine to capture the TQ in this tough class. Ficco went on to win the A-main from his pole position. Brian Bodine took his CRC car to a second place finish with Northwest Hobbies shop front man, Casey Vitale, 3rd in his CRC ride. Northwest native Brian Bodine, driving his CRC car from second position on the grid then took a decisive win in the 1/12th 17.5 division while Denver driver Mario Ficco, winner of the F-1 class at the IIC, rolled into Timezone II in Washington state with the pre-production CRC WTF-1 car. Mario dominated qualifying, winning every round he finished and taking TQ in the process.

Pro-Line 1/8 buggy tyre updates

Pro-Line have extended their already impressive range of 1/8 buggy tyres by several compound variants and pre-mounts. The Blockade, Bow-Tie 2.0 and Big Blox thread now additionally come in the super soft X4 compound as tyre only or pre-mounted on white Velocity disc wheels. Also new in the X4 range are the Hole Shot 2.0, Ion and Diamond Back all of which come as tyre only. Additionally the Hole Shot 2.0 will become available as soft X3 compound for warmer ambient temperatures or for the use on higher traction surfaces.

Pro-Line Desert Raid & Ford F-100 bodies

Pro-Line have three new off-road body shells available in the form of the SC-compatible Desert Raid as well as two Ford F-100 bodies. Starting with the Desert Raid, it is modelled after the prototype SU vehicles used at endurance rallies such as the Dakar and it fits many of today’s short course trucks such as the Pro-2 SC, the Slash 2WD and 4×4 as well as the SC10. Mounting the body requires the use of extended body mounts and you can even dare to race it as Flo-Tek air escape vents reduce the so called parachute effect often associated with this type of body shell. The body comes clear, includes window masks and a decal sheet.

Atsushi Hara wins at Jet Cup ACO opening race

The past weekend was the Hara Jet Cup ACO Opening Race hosted by Jet Hobby & ACO Racing Circuit in Hong Kong. Atsushi Hara, multi-class IFMAR World Champion was the main attraction during the weekend, not only because he is a World Champion, but also the first time he has raced with the Schumacher Mi5. Subject of great speculation over recent months Hara is currently the most talked about Pro RC driver. Hara TQ’ed and won both the Touring car classes with Stick King taking a great second also driving a Schumacher car. In the F1 class Stick also took the TQ and win from Hiro Nakatani and Michael Lau 3rd with a 6-wheel F1 car.

Team Durango DETC410 – Teaser

Team Durango have released a first proper teaser photo of their forthcoming DETC410 4WD electric touring car kit. The vehicle is in development for some time now and already proved its performance during this year’s BRCA nationals in the hands of Elliott Harper. Team Durango have yet to release the full features and specifications list but looking at the teaser image the car will likely feature all-aluminium bulkheads, aluminium suspension mounts with inserts for the suspension geometry, the shocks are of standard length and you can also spot aluminium driveshafts, wheel hex adapters and a low-profile motor mount. There is no definite release date yet but it is understood that the kit is ready to hit the stores very soon.
