Qi-Feng & Cho win at Taiwan AE Off-road Cup

The 2018 Taiwan AE Off-road Cup was held last weekend with the race being open to racers of all brands. The event was held at the Sanxia venue in several electric off-road classes, drawing a new record entry, and in the premier 2WD Mod category it was Tang Qi-Feng with the win as Howard Cho brought home the overall victory in 2WD Stock Buggy.

Mugen MBX8 high mount carbon fibre rear shock tower

Following the aluminium high mount rear shock tower for the MBX8 series of buggies, Mugen now also released a carbon fibre variant to further increase the tuneability of the rear end. The shock tower features the same shock and camber link geometry as the standard one, however additional wing mount positions allow to run the rear wing in higher positions which will help with rear downforce if needed. The shock stay is made of high-quality carbon fibre and it fits both the MBX8 nitro and MBX8 Eco E-buggy kits.

Xray Racing Series Greece Rd6 – Report

Round 6 of the Xray Racing Series Greek 1/10th Off-road was held at the Fanatix Racing Track last weekend. It was a pretty difficult day due to the high temperatures, however that did not stop the driver from being out there and have fun. The race attracted both seasoned racers and up and coming talent alike. Seven rising stars, eight to 16 years of age, were the highlight of the day. Fotinos took the pole in front of Sikianakis 2nd and Ioannidis 3rd on the starting grid. In leg one of the A-main Fotinos took the win after a solid performance. The second leg then saw Ioannidis taking the win from Takas 2nd and Fotinos 3rd. The final leg was a fight for the 1st place between Fotinos, Ioannidis and Takas. Everything was possible and anyone could be the winner. Eventually Ioannidis took the leg win and the also the overall from Fotinos 2nd and Takas 3rd.

T-Works D817 V2 titanium & steel screw sets

Coming from T-Works are two new screw sets for the HB Racing D817 V2 nitro off-road buggy. The first is a 135-piece set of UFO head titanium fasteners with the second being a 165-piece set of gold-colour steel screws. The titanium set was designed to reduce the overall weight of the buggy while adding corrosion resistance due to the high-quality 64 grade material. The gold-colour set however keeps the weight of the buggy the same, mainly adding visual impact.

RCSS T4 Hybrid Ceramic ball bearing set

RC Speed Secrets’ Hybrid Ceramic stainless steel ball bearings are now also available in a set for the Xray T4 series of touring cars. The bearings are about 21 percent lighter than standard ABEC-3 ceramics while making for reduced natural drivetrain drag, better acceleration and higher speeds. The set includes a total of 14 bearings and it fits T4 2018 down to 2015 spec kits.

Brent Sianez triple at Firecracker 500

The 5th annual Firecracker 500 was Radio Controlled Hobbies and Raceway’s largest race of the summer. The temperatures were hot and so was the racing. Attendance was strong with about 100 entries, which included some of the fastest drivers from RC Madness, another local track. Xray’s Brent Sianez was able to secure TQ honours and wins in Modified 2WD Buggy, Modified 4WD Buggy, and 13.5 4WD Buggy. Matt Buldoc (TLR) and Carl Smart (Team Associated) would round out the top 3 in 2WD Mod Buggy.

RCLabHK TB07 Evo carbon fibre chassis

RCLabHK have announced the soon release of their new carbon fibre chassis kit for the Tamiya TB07 Evo touring car. The conversion was developed for low to medium traction outdoor conditions, it uses the inline motor position and a vertical top deck design. Full information will become available in time for the release which is scheduled for August.

Roche P12 EU Spec conversion kit & F1 high wing mount

Coming from Roche are two new option parts for the P12 1/12th scale and F1 Evo formula car kit. First up is the wide EU Spec aluminium chassis conversion kit for the P12. Tested and used by European 1/12th scale champion, Ollie Payne the chassis is considerably wider than the standard item while offering optimised flex characteristics thanks to the machined alloy construction. Included in the set are also a wide lower power pod plat as well as a new carbon fibre side damper and centre shock mount. Also new is a high wing mount kit for the F1 Evo formula car. The set makes for a wider rear wing height adjustment range and it comes including all needed hardware.
