Kyosho reveal more Turbo Scorpion re-re images

Kyosho reveal more Turbo Scorpion re-re images

Kyosho Taiwan have released first high resolution images of the forthcoming Turbo Scorpion re-release 1/10th 2WD buggy kit. The latest addition to the Legendary Series of 1980’s kits is based off of the standard Scorpion but it features a white colour chassis tub, red body aluminium shock absorbers and larger wheels and tyres that seem to accept modern day 2.2″ tyres. Like the other Legendary Series buggies the kit will also feature updated suspension parts, modern 48 pitch gears and an upgraded transmission with slipper clutch. So far nothing is known about the vintage-looking Le Mans 240  brushless motor shown in the images. It may be included or available as upgrade but all information should become available in time for the release that is expected to happen in November.

“Leaked” image teases Kyosho Turbo Scorpion re-release

"Leaked" image teases Kyosho Turbo Scorpion re-release

A first “leaked” teaser image of the expected Kyosho Turbo Scorpion re-release buggy has appeared on the internet. Following the re-release of the 1980’s Tomahawk, Scorpion and Beetle kits, the former top-of-the-foodchain Turbo Scorpion would be a sensible next step in the company’s re-release schedule. The somewhat blurry image shows a buggy with brushless motor and what appear to be modern 2.2″ rims and tyres, showing the release might target the growing interest in vintage racing. We bring you more information on the possible release as soon as they become available.

Kyosho Mini-Z MR-03VE Pro MM2 chassis set

Kyosho Mini-Z MR-03VE Pro MM2 chassis set

Kyosho have introduced the Mini-Z MR-03VE Pro MM2 chassis set. With its performance defining midship motor mount, new MM2 motor case allows the longer (94mm) wheelbase to be used. The existing MM motor case design can be used with the LL/98mm, 3L/102mm and 4L/106mm wheelbases, but the new MM2 motor case can be used with L, LL and 3L wheelbases. Also, compared to the existing RM motor case, mass balance is optimised to improve cornering performance and minimise tipping due to high side on hybrid surfaces. These performance features provide a huge advantage in the JSCC class with the narrow body required by the regulations. In addition, axle adjustment spacers allow changes to the rear axle shaft height and together with the new plastic friction shock, precision setting according to road surface conditions are possible. The kit, that comes without tyres, wheels and bodyshell, utilises the MHS2.4GHz system, which is usable with the optional KO Propo-made Synchro EX-6 transmitter, making for ultra-fast response.

JConcepts RB6/6.6 Aero front wings

JConcepts RB6/6.6 Aero front wings

JConcepts have introduced the Aero front wings for the Kyosho RB6 and RB6.6. Front wings are not a new concept, however, they are new to the latest generation of mid-motor vehicles and demanding high-speed and grippy circuits. The latest vehicle to receive JCs “Aero” treatment is Kyosho’s RB6 line of vehicles with the wings being available in a wide and narrow variant, allowing for different aerodynamic setups while the fine-tuning can executed by adjusting the trim-able rear gurney section. Cut lines are included for easy trimming while triple wing mount dimples are included for a bolt-on fit to the popular Kyosho series of vehicles. The wings come in two piece packages including either a pair of wide or narrow wings.
