Max Power have introduced their new XXL9 14.5 engine. A completely new 3,5cc on road engine featuring a 14.5mm diameter shaft. Fearing all the improvements of the XL9 TQR which we covered last week, such as the reinforced crankcase, new piston & liner set with revised wrist pin height, and new wider/lower/lighter cooling head, the big performance difference between the two engines is that the 14.5 will have higher top speed. Together with XL9 TQR, this will be the engine the Max Power team will in Miami for the World championships in April.

Max Power XL9 TQR .21 engine

Max Power XL9 TQR .12 engine

Max Power have released their new .21 XL9 TQR on road engine. On the outside the only visible change is the new style cooling head, which is 10% lighter than the previous version, but inside there has been lots of work done. The engine features a new crankcase internal structure which improves strength between the two main bearings, preventing flex and improving stability at high temperatures. The strength and alignment of the piston has also been improved due to the new wrist pin height, while the new super balanced high durable steel 14mm crankshaft features adjusted timing due to the improved piston and sleeve set. This is the engine that will be used at the 1/8th scale World Championships in April by the likes of Cristiani, Burch, Lemieux, Tanaka to name but a few.
