Following the announcement last October that French tyre maker Medial Pro was putting itself up for sale comes today’s release that they have been sold to Belgium based company Medial Pro BVBA. All inventory, rubber injection machinery and tyre moulds will be moved this month to the brand new production facility in Belgium where the production will be restarted at the end of April. This new company will be doing all it possibly can to supply the market, and their worldwide distributor network, with a new stock of tyres as soon as possible. Nothing will be changing on the rubber compounds but Medial Pro have said that the existing range of competition tyres will be extended before the end of this year with 5 new types of 1/8 off-road and Truggy tyres, designed by Claude Lachat.
French tire brand Medial Pro have released a statement announcing that company founder and current owner Eric Bertrand has placed the company up for sale. With declining margins, increased costs to keep manufacturing in France and increased competition with lower priced tires that are being made in Asia, he has decided on this course of action. Having been around for almost 2 decades the company has won many major titles and still continues to make a quality product and hopefully when a new buyer is found, for which he already has some interested parties, the brand that was started in 1989 will continue to exist.
A quick piece from our site partners Neo Buggy about this new wheel from French manufacturer, Medial Pro. The wheel, which will be available from next week, does everything an off road wheel needs to do, its strong, light and fits all buggies and if disc wheels with slits in them float your boat, then this is the perfect wheel for you.
Our site partners Neo Buggy are reporting that young Swedish star Christoffer Svensson has been snapped up by French tyre company Medial Pro and for the 2007 season Christoffer will run Medial Pro’s updated range of tyres, rims and products. This marks a resurrgence in the Medial Pro brand with two of Sweden’s top drivers now using their rubber, Robert Gustafssen having joined last week. Just this weekend both drivers were at the XRAY Challenge in Denmark, with Robert winning the event, and Christoffer putting in a strong round 5 qualifying TQ followed by a good run in the final before he retired with technical problems.
Medial Pro are running a rather unique and, lucrative for the winner, competition in which they invite entrants to design the next new tyre in their tyre range. Medial Pro have all the details on their site and the winning entry will first of all receive one racing season’s worth of Medial Pro tyres (100 pairs of tyres glued on rims!) and the winning tyre design will be named after the winner!
