Timo Schröder joins Merlin McFly factory team

German 1/8 scale frontrunner Timo Schröder has joined the Merlin McFly factory team. He joins a whole bunch of world class drivers like Dominic Greiner, Lars Hoppe, Konstantinos Saritsaklis, just to name a few. This is what Timo has to say about the deal, ‘I’m super happy to join the Merlin McFly team now officially. I’ve been using their products like ‘Whole Day Pipe Protection’ and the ‘Plug Inspection Monocle’ for years during my racing campaigns. I like the stuff, its innovative and cool. The pallet of gadgets makes the maintenance and inspection of cars and engines super easy.’

Merlin McFly compression testing tool

This is the fully CNC machined ‘Compression Testing Tool’ from the Merlin McFly factory. Made from high quality Swiss 7075 alloy, the whole assembly is easily screwed into the glow plug hole of any glow engine with a turbo plug. Once you switch in on and turn the engine to the top dead centre you can read the compression of the engine on the digital readout and compare it with your other engines or those of your friends.

Merlin McFly head clearance tool

This is the fully CNC machined head clearance tool from the Merlin McFly factory. Made from high quality Swiss 7075 alloy, the part can be attached to any digital or analog dial indicator that features a Ø8mm shaft. The assembly is screwed into the combustion chamber and set to zero on a flat surface. Then the engine can be assembled back together with all necessary head shims. After this the tool is mounted a second time to check the head clearance by turning the engine to the top dead centre. The value that can be read on the digital/analog scale is your total head clearance.

Merlin McFly X20 carbon fibre topdeck

Merlin McFly have introduced their new topdeck for the Serpent X20 touring car. Designed by Lennart Skornia, the new upper deck has been optimised to improve the flex characteristics of the chassis in high traction carpet conditions as it reduces the overall torsional flex of the chassis both front and rear resulting in easier and more consistent lap times. The flex can be adjusted by either using screws or removing them from the top deck. The parts can be personalised or customised upon request.

Merlin McFly Pitbull X alloy diff case

Rapid manufacturing company Merlin McFly has announced the release of an aluminium differential case for the Amewi Pitbull X buggy. A direct replacement for the original moulded composite part the alloy diff case, machined from highest-quality aerospace 7075-T6 aluminium, greatly improves durability and reliability. Included with the diff case comes a high-quality ball bearing. Alloy diff cases for other kits are available on request.
