More new batteries from Motiv with the introduction of this new Defy grey graphene 6000mAh 2S ultra low CG pack. At only 19mm tall and weighing only 229grams, this pack is best suited for highly competitive racing applications such as modified touring and loose track mod dirt oval. The hard case utilises 5mm bullet connectors.
New from Motiv RC is this Launch NP grey graphene hard case 7000mAh LiPo, made specifically for drag racing. The 8 internal cells that make this battery 4p are HV cells at 7.6V, this means the battery is both powerful and more stable than the normal 7.4V cells when charged to 8.4V for competition. Featuring a hard case design that keeps the cells safer during usage while the 8mm bullet plugs eliminate solder joints, clutter and weight from the connector.
Unique to Motiv RC, the fat shorty was made for RC applications where low CG is not necessarily most desirable but yet a shorty footprint is. The recommended usage for this battery is no prep drag racing and dirt oval. Due to this battery’s high 8200mAh, it will hold higher voltage longer during discharge than any other shorty made to date.
New from Motiv is their all new MC4 line of 540 class brushless motors (ROAR, EFRA Compliant). The MC4 spec winds will be produced in 10.5, 13.5, 17.5, 21.5 and 25.5 variations and all are wound on a newly tooled Motiv stator for low resistance. As always all motors come standard with a quality-control spec sheet and shows that each part has gone through QC in-house and that the rotor, sensor and stator meet previously selected specifications for every single motor sold. The MC4 modified lineup is available in eleven different variations making up all even and odd winds from 3.5T all the way up to 8.5T.
Launch, a division of Motiv RC dedicated to competition drag racing, now brings the Launch 540 2.5T and 3.5T drag racing motors. The Launch 540 features a 3-phase beefy stator with thin insulators and low resistance winding, this results in proper power delivery through the stator. The 2-pole rotor is composed of the highest strength neodymium material available for great torque. The 13.0mm rotor is then drill balanced which ensures continued power delivery under high RPM down the drag strip. The red anodized can assembly is lightweight with adjustable timing from 0 to 60 degrees and provides plenty of air flow. The motor is designed, built and tuned in house for short speed runs and drag racing passes only.
Motiv has introduced their new Launch series LiPo battery. The Launch battery is developed for only the most serious RC drag racer and it utilises high-performance 110C+ burst cells together with ultra-thick 8AWG wire. The new-size 3S pack, measuring 123x44x24 and weighing in at 317g now rounds out the line of batteries with options for all 1S, 2S, and 3S drag racing applications. Launch has been the battery of choice for many high-level competitors to set record times since its introduction in 2018.

I am excited to be running for Motiv in 2019! Not many of you know this but when I first started racing, the first pro racer I met was Paul Lemieux, It was in 2002 at a race in Canada. Even though I could not speak English back then he was there to help and did everything he could to help me. 17 years later I am happy to be running for a company that has killer racer products made by one of the most genuine people in the industry. Looking forward to seeing you all at the track!
Motiv RC has announced that long-time racer and Team Losi Racing engineer Frank Root will be using Motiv products in his racing efforts in 2019. Frank’s input, professionalism and his ability to showcase the brand at off-road events will be a huge help in the company’s attempt to bring Motiv products to the forefront. Frank had this to say about joining the team:
I’m beyond excited to be joining the Motiv and Gravity RC team for 2019. From my testing, I knew that Motiv motors and batteries were outstanding, and their performance will allow me to perform at the highest level. I’ve known Paul for over 15 years, and I know that anything he is involved with will not be outperformed as Paul has the tools and experience needed to win. I look forward to working with Paul and Zac Rose, as well as the rest of the team, to get dialed in quickly, and start posting top end results in the very near future.
