Following on from yesterdays announcement that Losi have released a range of LiPo cells, comes an even larger line of LiPo battery packs from Nosram, which offer extremely high capacity, an unbelievable 25C discharge rate and less weight than standard NiMH or NiCd batteries.

With a wide range of capacities Nosram covers the needs of each park flyer with type 480 packs up to high power hotliners, 3300 packs. Also every electric car driver has the possibility to use VTEC LiPo batteries. Our special type 1800 pack is a perfect fit in nearly every 1/18 scale car. More product news from Nosram, this time its the release of the Evil, a new brushless/brushed speed controller. This new speedo comes in 2 versions, and both are intended for sports racers with both versions of the Evil featuring reverse as well as being fully waterproof. This controller, as with all modern speedos, can automatically detect the motor (brushed, brushless) and cell type (NiMh, Lipo) and can work with 4, 5 or 6 cell configurations. The standard version can handle brushed systems up to 10 turns and brushless to 12.5 turns, whilst the ‘Power’ version can handle brushed systems up to 7 turns and brushless to 8.5 turns.

Nosram have released details about their new motor, the Sports Modified Dragon, which is a brushless system for the sports level racer. Made using the same technology as the Storm Evolution, the Dragon uses neodym magnets, features a hand wound armature for optimium performance and as this motor is sensored, you can be guaranteed a very responsive feel.

Nosram have released details of 2 of their newly released products which were first shown at the toy fair in Nuernberg. First up is the Matrix Evolution speed controller that works with both brushed and brushless motors, can automatically detect between NiMH and Lipo batteries and utilizes their new XP2 software as well as featuring some other internal upgrades over the previous version. Nosram have also released their new Stealth Evolution charger that can handle LiPo, NiMh and NiCd cells with charging currents ranging from 0.1A to 10.0A and on top of that functions as a top end discharger too. The unit itself features a red backlight LED display, has an autostarting function with times set between 0-99 minutes and it can store 3 charger or discharging profiles to suit your different preferences.

Ellis Stafford joins Nosram

Ellis Stafford Nosram

Top European off road racer Ellis Stafford has signed to use Nosram electrics in his cars for 2007. Having only recently signed to X-Factory, the 2005 European 4wd Champion has made a complete equipment switch for next year which will see him race the UK Nationals, Belgian GP as well as the World and European Championships.

Stafford won his first BRCA National buggy event in his first year of competition on the circuit, and took the buggy title both in 1996 and again in 2000. He has a total of 27 National wins, among the most of any active driver, placing him second on the all-time win list. He’s also won the European Championship twice in 4WD, 1992 with a Kyosho and 2005 with a Losi.
