Orcan RSR-MH 2.1cc nitro on-road engine

SMI from Germany have introduced their new Orcan RSR-MH 2.1cc competition nitro on-road engine. Based on the popular RSR3-MH Sound of Racing engine, the RSR-MH has been upgraded and reminded for 2018. The most prominent feature of the are power plant is a shim that is located under the sleeve that can be added or removed to change the timing and thus the performance characteristics. With the shim fitted, the RSR-MH’s timing is set up exactly like the 2017 RSR3-MH, making it perfect for medium-sized and large tracks. Removing the shim changes the timing to deliver outstanding drivability and extra torque. This also reduces fuel consumption, restricts the maximum RPM and thus limits top speed. As on previous models, the carburettor comes complete with insulating bushing. In addition, modified air intake characteristics deliver lightning fast responses to throttle input. The distinctive outer of the new motor has an aluminium-coloured cooling head engraved in grey with the insignia Orcan RSR-MH. The engine is a limited edition items of which only 44 units are available.

Pro-Line X-Maxx dual rate spring assortment

Pro-Line have introduced a dual rate spring assortment for the Traxxas X-Maxx truck. Specifically developed for Traxxas’ popular truck, the spring assortment pack includes a pair each of soft, medium and firm upper and lower springs that can be mixed and matched to give tons of tuning options. The main benefit of using dual rate springs is to have a softer initial combined spring rate for gliding over the small choppy bumps, but then transition to a much firmer rate once the upper spring is collapsed to absorb the big hits. The included spring separator is custom machined from black delrin for smooth sliding action over the shock body and the shoulder is offset so upper spring collapses consistently for proper performance. The upper springs are black and the lower springs are bright Zinc coated for a chrome-like finish.
