Traxxas TRX-4 scale & trail crawler

Following first teaser images Traxxas have released more information on their new TRX-4 1/10th 4WD scale and trail crawler. The vehicle will utilise a rigid steel frame chassis for minimised chassis flex while front and rear portal axles maximise ground clearance and minimise unwanted torque twist. The portal axles also raise the axle link mounts and centre driveshafts for even greater clearance and they are equipped with remote locking differentials that are controllable via the transmitter. Part of the drivetrain is a hi/low range transmission, again controllable via the transmitter, while a metal gear digital steering servo and full waterproof treatment of the whole vehicle make for go everywhere capabilities. The kit will be rounded out by a replica Land Rover Defender bodyshell and 1.9″ Canyon trail tyres and it will hit stores about mid-May.

Lee Martin teams up with Scorpion Power Systems

Scorpion Power Systems have officially announced the signing of UK front runner, Lee Martin to their factory team. The Yokomo driver and former EOS champion had his debut for his new electronics sponsor at last weekend’s EOS finale in Austria. Lee will be using Scorpion’s full line of 1/10th scale brushless motors and speed controllers along the company’s high-performance LiPo battery packs and he had the following to say about the deal:

I’m proud to announce that I have joined Scorpion Power Systems for this year and beyond. Having met Georges in person a little while back, I could already feel that his passion and pride in his company was second to none. Being able to work directly with the factory will give us both the opportunity to push the boundaries and achieve great things together. Using the electrics at last weekends EOS for the first time was already a great indication of things to come as they ran faultlessly and felt great! Thanks to Georges for opportunity to work together.
