European SWorkz distributors MW RC Cars have released a first teaser image of their forthcoming S35-3 1/8th nitro off-road buggy. No details are known yet but the kit is expected to hit stores early 2017. We bring you more information on features, specifications and a release date as soon as they surface.

Coming soon from Kyosho are lightweight differential cross shafts for the MP9 series of buggies. Made from 7075 Duraluminium and sporting a hard-anodised surface for wear the parts scrub about 1.4g per piece meaning that up to 8.4g of weight can be saved when decking out all three diffs of a vehicle. The shafts come in sets of two – without the gears visible in above image – and they will hit stores soon.

As announced in Jason Ruona’s video interview with U.S. Hobbywing representative Ron Schuur, Hobbywing have introduced the XR10 Pro Stock Spec 1S brushless speed controller. Based off of the standard Pro Stock, the 1S variant is aimed specifically towards single-cell 1/12th and 1/10th scale racing. Housed in a compact aluminium case with heatsink upper section the controller features five pre-set profiles for the most common applications but it is also highly customisable using Hobbywings LCD programming box, PC interface or WiFi Express module and a mobile device. The built-in on/off switch reduces wiring work and data logging capability makes drivetrain setup more convenient. The 80A rated ESC is only usable with 1S LiPo or three to four cell NiMH packs and it features a switch mode 6V/7.4V BEC system, doing away with the need to use additional receiver battery packs.

GForce have introduced the G4 multi charger for 2S to 4S LiXX and 6 to 8 cell NiXX batteries. The compact device measures 69.4×110.7×40.5mm and it offers easy menu operation using a single switch and a push button. With up to 4A charge current the charger is good for the use even with higher capacity batteries and a dedicated LiHV mode allows to charge the latest high-voltage Lithium-Polymer packs. Included comes a variety of adapter wires including ones with Tamiya-style, T-plug and BEC connectors.
Protoform have announced the addition of 2016 ISTC World Finalist Nicholas Lee to their factory racing team. Nicholas’ track record across many different platforms of on-road racing makes him an ideal fit and Protoform look forward to having him represent the team in Asia and across the international racing scene at electric touring, nitro touring and 1/8 nitro events. The latest O.S. Speed engine to surface is the Speed T1202 1/10th scale touring car engine. With significant updates have been made to the original T1201, the latest version features improved torque, a tungsten-weighted crankshaft with diamond-like coating and a lighter piston for better performance over the whole RPM range. A thinker cylinder flange transfers heat more efficiently to the low-profile cooling head and a low-profile carburettor restrictor enables quicker throttle response from low to top. On top of this the engine offers improved mileage.
During last weekend’s JConcepts Indoor Nationals final at Speed RC in North Carolina, JConcepts founder Jason Ruona gave us the run through of his personal Associated B6, which has been fitted with a number of soon to be released and prototype items.
New from Protoform comes the DB16 wing kit for 200mm touring cars. In combination with the PF SRS-N race body, this wing was used by Dario Balestri at the 2016 1/10 IC World Championship to TQ and set the pace for most of the event. Then, at the 2016 ROAR Fuel National Championships, JJ Wang took the overall TQ and win with the DB16 mounted on his P37-N. On the track it has been shown to add more traction and make 200mm sedans easier drive through high-speed corners. The wing fits all IFMAR/ROAR/EFRA specs and is formed from genuine 0.7mm Lexan. Included with the wing are two 50x35mm Lexan endplates and mounting hardware.
