RPM RC10 classic gear cover

RPM introduce this gear cover for the RC10, RC10 Classic and RC10T. Modelled after the 20+ years old original part, the 2014 variant features some improvements in design and functionality. First up are smoother contours and added clearance in several areas to make for an ever better fit while completely sealing the main gear and pinion from dust and debris. The cover also has a larger, taller area for bigger pinions than the stock gear cover and the spur area has been expanded to allow the use of the VTS slipper clutch from Associated. Coming in dyeable white colour for a nostalgic feel and including a soft gear cover plug for easy slipper nut access.

Scorpion RS-3420 brushless motors – Full details

Scorpion Power Systems RS-3420 brushless motors

Following a brief introduction some days ago Scorpion Power Systems now have full details on their RS-3420 electric brushless motor available. Being a first for the company that is well known for its aircraft brushless motors, the motor sports some interesting features such as a patented screw-type rotor surface for increase flux density and maximised cooling. Also no plastic inserts are used to achieve maximum copper fill for the stator windings while high grade silicone steel and high purity copper wire allow for a high flux density and a minimal internal resistance. Other features include a CNC-machined 7075 heatsink can, sleeve-protected magnets, and a built-in temperature sensor for on-track monitoring with future Scorpion ESCs. The motors are built to comply with the IFMAR rules and are available as 4.5T to 8.5T modified and 10.5T to 21.5T stock variant.

JP Richards joins Xpert RC US

JP Richards joins Xpert R/C US

2014 Reedy Race of Champions 2WD Open Class winner JP Richards has officially joined the Xpert RC US racing team. JP has been moving up the racing ladder in the US from winning events in the Mid West to now featuring at higher level events like the Reedy Race, JConcepts Indoor Series and Short Course Showdown Series events. In his first event with Xpert products JP would TQ and win the 2WD Modified class at the MS Benefit Race at Delaware Ohio RC Raceway.

Bittydesign "hard wings" for 190mm touring car bodies

Bittydesign introduce their new “hard wings” for 190mm touring car bodyshells. Coming in the medium downforce Charge and high downforce Ultra Charge version, both are made from thick 1mm polycarbonate for maximised rigidity and improved downforce even in today’s ultra-fast modified racing. According to Bittydesign both wings are compatible with all 190mm TC bodies on the market and the wings are available now.

Reedy 5000mAh 65C 7.4V LiPo battery pack

Reedy introduce their latest competition LiPo battery pack in the form of this 7.4V 5000mAh 65C pack. Built from lightweight high-performance cells the pack weights in at only 276g allowing to achieve a better left-to-right balance while offering the needed voltage for stock racing and modified classes alike. The hardcase pack sports standard 139x46x25mm dimensions, it is 2C chargeable and makes use of 4mm bullet-type connector tubes.

Pro-Line Mugen MBX-7 body – Sneak preview

Pro-Line have just released this sneaky teaser image of their forthcoming Mugen MBX-7 body. Given some of the details visible the body will sport the distinctive and quite edgy “Phantom” design meaning it will very likely be a cab forward offering with an aggressively styled rear end and other performance enhancing aero gizmos. Reedy 5200mAh 50C square LiPo battery pack

After introducing the first “square” LiPo battery pack with the 5700mAh 65C version, Reedy now also offers a 5200mAh 50C variant. Built from lighter and slightly lower power 50C cells the pack is ideally suited for all applications that call for easier car control. Additionally, the reduced weight of of 261g makes it easier to attain the minimum legal weight while aiding in balancing front/rear weight distribution. The pack is equipped with dual 4mm sockets and a 2mm balance port.

Reds Racing extends VX 540 brushless motor line

Italian engine manufacturer Reds Racing, known for their Mario Rossi tuned high-performance nitro engines, recently stepped into the electric brushless motor market with their VX 540 motors. Featuring a CNC-machined 6061-T6 heatsink can with large venting holes, balanced sintered rotors, high-purity copper windings, heavy-duty solder tabs, high RPM ball bearings and a red anodised timing shield the motors are now also available as touring car related 3.5T and 4.0T as well as a 5.5T 4WD buggy variant.
