Vesa Yli joins JFT Tires

Xenon Racing and JFT Tires have announced the signing of top European 1/12th scale drive Vesa Yli. The Finnish driver, who is the manufacturer of the well know V-Dezign chassis, has made the switch to the Japanese made JFT tires for the new season and will also continue to use other Xenon Racing parts on his cars as he has in the past. Vesa gave this statement:

I would like to thank Terutaka Hanaumi from Xenon and JFT Racing for this opportunity to race with their tires made with the highest quality standards! Been supported by Xenon Racing since 2007 already, I am very excited and looking forward to the future races and to help developing even better products! I would also like to thank Markus Mobers for his support for tires over the last 5 years.

Losi have introduced the 5ive WRC Mini. This officially licensed replica of the John Cooper Works (JCW) World Rally Championship (WRC) Mini Countryman personifies the essence of rallycross performance with an outstanding design and authoritative 4WD power. To better power through the off-road the it is equipped with a powerful 29cc gasoline engine, and an extremely capable shaft driven 4wd drive train with 3 viscous differentials for even power distribution. Spektrum DX4C transmitter

Spektrum have released their new DX4C transmitter and SRS4210 receiver combo. You get a Spektrum 2.4GHz computer radio with an array of features typically found in higher priced models as well as the new DSMR-equipped SRS4210 receiver with patent-pending AVC (Active Vehicle Control). The DX4C uses 4-channels to operate steering, throttle and AVC technology separately. The first two channels operate steering and throttle while the second two manage AVC steering and throttle augmentation. By having two channels dedicated to managing AVC technology, users can adjust the steering and throttle elements independently of the other for more refined tuning to meet demands of any surface.

Reds Racing M3 World Cup Series engine

Reds Racing have released their new M3 World Cup Series, a 2.1 cc motor for the On-road Touring Racing class. The new engine offers the most advanced technologies to get the best performance and reliability. Featuring a lightweight cylinder for increased engine performance at low and medium RPM, a tuned and balanced crankshaft, domed piston, ‘Direct Cooling’ cooling head technology, optimized timing to reduce fuel consumption and of course M.Rossi special tuning to make the engine simply powerful. The WCS is also one of the lightest in its category, weighing just 205g.

Masayuki Miura and HPI part ways

HB/HPI Racing team manager and manager of Japanese operations Masayuki Miura has made the shock announcement that he has decided to leave the company. Having worked at HPI for 11 years and been largely responsible for the company’s 2 world titles, with Andy Moore in 2006 and Atsushi Hara in 2008, his is the second high profile departure in the last 5 months following Atsushi Hara’s resignation back in August. Miura informs us that he has not yet decided what his next move will be but as soon as we find out we will let you know.

2014 Xray Challenge Germany - Announcement

The 2014 Xray Challenge Germany is being held a stone’s throw from the world famous Nürburgring. The setting is to be local club MAC Adenau’s permanent indoor race track, called the “Eifel Ring” in a nod to its big brother. With a 90-metre-long carpet track that’s almost as challenging as the Nürburgring’s legendary Nordschleife, the international Xray Challenge Germany event offers drivers the chance to compete in three classifications: touring cars – modified or stock categories – and 1/12 standard.

Lorenzo Crolla joins FX engines

FX have announced that the young talented French driver Lorenzo Crolla joins the FX team. Lorenzo choose the FX engine to empower his car in the 2014 season which will include the Worlds, Euros and French Nationals. Lorenzo had this to say:

I got the chance to test and run some of the very first FX engines and after several races I was fully confident that FX will be my next engine I want to run. I have been running the engine for several months already without any single flame out or any technical failures and the performance is simply amazing. I was very happy when FX approached me to be a factory team driver and I want to thank for this opportunity. I am excited for the 2014 season and at the same time very confident in the engine and I will do all my best.

Coming in Team Orion’s patented carbon look hardcase the batteries are build using the latest generation LiPo cells with enhanced energy density, a very low internal resistance and 100C discharge rate. The packs, that are build to meet ROAR, EFRA, BRCA and IFMAR specifications, are 5C chargeable and come in a wide range of configurations including 2S standard, shorty, saddle and saddle block packs as well as a 1/12th 1S pack.
