A Main Hobbies partners with Joey Christensen

After extensive testing A Main Hobbies has opted to replace the high-bite clay at Silver Dollar RC Raceway with a local soil chosen by world-renown track builder, Joey Christensen. The decision to use a local soil in lieu of the hard-packed clay will benefit racers who will experience less tire wear and more impressive track features. According to Joey Christensen, “the new soil was necessary to build killer layouts and to be worthy of the SDRCR facility.” The new surface will be easier to shape and change for track layouts.” Christensen will also design and build the SDRCR track for the Off-Road Challenge and upcoming 1/10-scale Electric Pre-Worlds. With the ROAR Nationals and IFMAR World Championships heading to Silver Dollar RC Raceway it was imperative to find a soil that would result in the best possible experience for racers who compete. As a result of the existing clay being removed and new dirt being trucked in, the Silver Dollar Off-Road Challenge will now be moved to May 17th-19th. A Main Hobbies’ CEO, Kendall Bennett has the following to say about the changes:

We want the racers who frequent SDRC Raceway to enjoy the surface and layouts we create. We also needed a soil that was easier to manage. If racers experience less tire wear, and are able to drive on several exciting layouts throughout the year, they’ll have more fun. Our decision was easy when considering our customers, the racers, and our long term goals with Silver Dollar RC Raceway.

Arromax 14-piece Honeycomb tool set

Arrowmax release this 14-piece honeycomb tool set including a handy tool bag. The set contains 1.5mm to 3.0mm Allen and 2.0mm to 3.0mm ball drivers, 3.0mm and 5.8mm flat head as well as 3.5mm and 5.8mm Philips screwdrivers and is rounded up by 5.0mm to 7.0mm nut drivers. The special honeycomb handle make the tools light of weight and comfortable to use.

WRC tire additive, cleaner & silicone fluids

Italian company World Racing Car introduce new chemicals in the form of a tire additive, a tire cleaner and silicone shock oils. The general usage additive as well as the cleaner come in handy bottles while the shock fluids are supplied in 40ml easy-to-squeeze bottles and viscosities of 200, 400, 600, 800 and 1000.

RDRP 210 series low roll centre suspension mounts

The RDRP 210 Series Low-Roll-Center Suspension Mount Set is specially designed for the Team Durango 210 series vehicles including the DEX210, DEST210 and DESC210. The LCR suspension mounts lower the vehicle’s rear roll centre by 2mm in order to improve handling on medium to low-grip surfaces or when running spec tyres. Included in the set are the RF suspension mount as well as three RR mounts in the form of the 0/3, 1.5/3 and 3/3 variant. All parts are machined from aircraft-quality 7075-T6 aluminium, come black anodised and laser-etched for easy identification and a cool factory look. The blocks are a direct fit on the recently announced Plus11 DEX210 Aluminium Chassis. DEX210 buggies with standard or aftermarket chassis and the DEST210 and DESC210 may require some do-it-yourself work in the wishbone/chassis area in order to give enough clearance for the arms.

T.O.P. Photon EX medium stiffness top deck

T.O.P. introduce a new optional top deck for the Photon EX touring car. The medium stiffness upper deck ranges between the standard and the optional stiff deck and incorporates a centre post location hole to fine-tune the flex characteristics of the chassis.

Kyle McBride joins A Main Hobbies

17-year old, 3-time Australian National Champ Kyle McBride has signed with A Main Hobbies. The young, super-talented McBride will represent ProTek RC and A Main Hobbies along with his current sponsors all over the world. McBride had this to say:

I’m excited to be on a growing team and to represent an international power such as A Main Hobbies and ProTek RC. I will be pushing the brand over here in Australia and look forward to bringing the team many results in the near future and the rest of the 2013 season! Pro-Line Ion 1/10th tires

Available soon from Pro-Line are several new Ion tread 1/10th scale off-road tires. The Ion 2WD buggy front tire will come in M3 soft and M4 super soft compound while the Ion T truck tire is available in MC clay rubber. The tires combine the tread design of the popular Scrubs and Suburbs to make for improved steering, balance and feel. They come with standard foam inserts.

Pro-Line MBX-7 Bulldog & Flo-Tek bodies

Pro-Line introduce a new Bulldog body shell for the World Championship winning Mugen MBX-7 buggy as well as colour variants of the pre-painted Flo-Tek short course body. Starting with the MBX-7, the Bulldog Gen 3 clear body shell features a larger and higher swoop on the front side panels for more front down-force. The rear section of the roof has been angled off for a new look and to allow more air to get to the cooling fins on the motor. The Gen 3 body also has a raised rear section behind the motor to increase the balance of traction front to rear for more traction on any surface. The body come clear, including window masks and decal sheet. Also new are three colour variants of Pro-Line’s recently introduced pre-painted Flo-Tek SC body. The hand-painted body soon is available as blue, red and yellow variant and the body is compatible with many of today’s 1/10th short course chassis.
