Craig Collinson doubles at Chadderton

The Batley Buggy Club hosted the second round of their Chadderton winter series, held at Radclyffe Athletics Centre. With over 120 entrants, a full days’ racing was ahead of the drivers. The multi-surface track looked fantastic with a good mix of jumps, bumps, carpet and the usual cork flooring. The track was also laid out to run anti-clockwise just to mix things up a bit. As qualifying got under way it was clear to see the fast guys were all running dBoots Terrabytes tyres (A compound), as these proved to provide the most grip on the cork flooring and looked super consistent between surfaces. Just like in the first round both 2WD and 4WD classes were run on the same day, so it was all systems go for those competing in both classes. There was some great and close racing throughout the four rounds, but it was Team Durango driver Craig Collinson who was on form again, taking three out of four qualifying rounds with both his DEX410v3 and DEX210, to give him the overall TQ spot with both cars. Steve Lawson qualified second in 2WD and Conor Cocker took the second qualifier spot in 4WD, also driving a Team Durango DEX410v3.

JConcepts 1/10th truck & buggy profiled inserts

JConcepts have released two new profiled inserts for 1/10th truck and 1/10th buggy. The insert for 1/10th racing trucks was debuted during the 2012 Cactus Classic and has been used in a testing phase throughout 2012. The material and design is very similar to the popular 1/10th buggy rear insert giving it a medium to firm feel. The new 3206-3 1/10th buggy rear insert comes on the heels of the success of the 3206-2 insert. The -3 insert as it is called, utilizes the same inner and outer cuts as the -2 but with a slightly rounder profile, the insert rounds the shape of the tire slightly which is advantageous in loose conditions with treaded tires or when using slick type tires.

TRG 112 1/10th scale F1 chassis

Japanese company TRG have released the 112, their latest 1/10th scale F1 chassis. Available in a wide 200mm version and a regular 180mm version, the main difference between the two is the front suspension parts. The car features a 3mm carbon chassis that is designed to best accept the shorty LiPo, but can also accept full size packs, and is mounted inline with space around the pack for receiver and ESC. The chassis is very narrow at only 79mm and so doesn’t scrub during cornering and because of this design it can accept almost all current and past bodies. Other neat features include dual rear roll dampers, adjustable front suspension links, a single piece top deck, adjustable steering upright and a pretty awesome adjustable servo mount.
