Xtreme Racing have released this Mugen MBX-6R hybrid carbon fibre shock tower. It replaces the stock metal towers and has extra shock mounting holes for increased tuning possibilities. Made from 4mm carbon, it has both buggy and truggy shock mounting holes.

Xray have announced that top Italian on-road drivers Mirko and Walter Salemi are joining the Italian Xray team. The Salemi brothers will race and represent Team Xray at all major national and international 1/8 and 1/10 nitro on-road races as well as joining the team at the 2012 European Championship. Walter is a multiple Workd and European finalist as well as an Italian Champion while his younger brother Mirko is reigning European B Champion as well as a F1 and F2 Italian Champion. Walter and Mirko had this to say:

For 2012 the JConcepts Clash is going Indoors to the Flowood, Indoor R/C park in Flowood, Mississippi on the weekend of September 21-23, 2012. A large building and track operated by super promoter Bubba Barham equals big-time Clash action. The 6th annual event will take place on a newly built indoor race course at the Flowood R/C park and will be specifically built for this annual event. With the uniqueness of the Clash, special considerations are always made to the layout, making it both electric and nitro friendly; rest assured your vehicle of choice will be tested. A 125’x100’ Indoor track is easily among the largest in the world and contains one of the best indoor racing surfaces in existence. Team Magic and HRC Distribution have announced the signing of German racer Patrick Gassauer to their electric touring car team. Following successful tests with the all new E4RS II chassis, he has chosen this car to race in the 2012 season. Patrick, who has been a finalist in European and National championships, will drive for Shepherd in nitro on road.

At last weekends opening Euro Offroad Series race we were given a look at the soon to be released Team Durango DESC210 short course truck. The truck was making its debut in the Czech Republic and the team were using the event to test the final production parts on the car. Based off the DEX210 buggy, the chassis is all but identical but made longer to accommodate the larger trucks dimensions. Just like the DEX210, the car can be set up in rear or mid motor configurations, with the mid motor on carpet proving be very effective. We were told to expect a release in about 2 months.

For the 3rd year in a row racers made their way to Smac Trac raceway in St. Louis, MO for the JConcepts Winter Indoor Nationals. A record turnout of 371 entries filled the building and the pit area was in a constant buzz of excitement. The amazingly prepped track by Scott McDonald featured the best layout in the short history of the event which produced some extremely close racing and challenged even the best drivers in attendance.
