Lemieux wins US Buggy Championships

The 6th running of the US Buggy Championships took place at Trackside Hobbies in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, over the weekend with Chase Lemieux completing the buggy double.  A track famed for once being owned by the ‘Voice of RC’ Scotty Ernst, this year’s event attracted 220 entries.  In qualifying Lemieux, the son of former international onroad ace Paul, would take the TQ honours with Tyler Whitt his closest rival in both 2WD and 4WD.  Decided over single A-Mains, the Xray driver would fully capitalise on pole position winning 2WD by 2-seconds from the Xray of Whitt with Casey Blasczyk completing the podium.  In 4WD, again Lemieux led home Whitt over the 8-minute main with Matt Sunderlage finishing third.

Charlee P back to Team Yokomo

Yokomo has announced that top Asian racer Charlee Phutiyotin is back as part of its international touring car team.  The Thai driver joins fellow countryman Meen Vejrak at the Japanese manufacturer after the pair both briefly raced for Serpent before returning to Yokomo.  Commenting on the announcement Phutiyotin said, “It feels good to be coming back “home”.  I’m thankful for the opportunity and more motivated than ever.  See you guys at the track.”

Roche Rapide P12 / F1 Steel Rear Solid Axle

World Champion 1:12 manufacturer Roche has released a new Steel Rear Solid Axle for their Rapide P12 1:12 chassis and Rapide F1 1:10 chassis.  The hollow steel axle improves drivability and offer more durability than the kit’s carbon axle.

Team Saxo F1-180 V4 1:10 Formula Car

Team Saxo has announced details the latest version of their 1:10 Formula kit, the new F1-180 V4.  The car is improved over its predecessor with a number of key changes the first of which is it new narrower chassis which is better in race conditions especially in tight tracks.  As well as a different design the chassis is also stiffer reducing wear rate but still allowing adequate flex.  An improved Battery Securing system now uses O-ring rather than battery tape to hold the battery in position.  The distances between axles has also been shortened on the V4 increasing stability in corners. For better and more precise adjustment of rear pod, two turnbuckles are used instead of single unit used on the V3.

Hagberg Top Qualifier at 1:12 European Championship

Alexander Hagberg is the Top Qualifier at the 2023 EFRA 1:12 European Championship.  The Xray driver, who is chasing his 8th European title in the Modified class, secured top spot for the triple finals by topping 3 of the 6 rounds of qualifying in Eastbourne, England.  With three drivers going into the final round vying for pole position, the former World Champion took the deciding round with his Hobbywing powered X12 from reigning Champion Michal Orlowski and current World Champion Marc Rheinard.  Overall having TQ’d Round 1 & 5, Schumacher’s Ollie Payne will start second followed by team-mate Orlowski with the Awesomatix of Rheinard lining up in P4.  In the Stock class, Orlowski will defend his title from the TQ having topped the opening four qualifiers with fastest times in the final two rounds securing Payne 2nd with Louis Parker making it an all Eclipse 5 top 3.  Awesomatix’s Mark Stiles will start fourth.

Hasi Tuned Rear Back Plate for O.S. Engine

Hasi Tuned, the engine tuning brand set-up by top international Swiss onroad racer Silvio Hächler, has released this Rear Back Plate for O.S. Engine V-FUEL Type.  Their latest back plate creation, it is designed to increase mid to high range power and also increases fuel efficiency and quicker return to idling.  The back plate can be used with on relevant offroad and onroad engines from O.S.

Power HD sign young Chinese talent Alfred Lao

Power HD has announced the signing of young talented Chinese Onroad racer Alfred Lao.  The 19-year-old is both a National Youth and Open Champion and will now use Power HD low profile brushless servo S15-M to compete in the upcoming race events.  With 10-years racing experience, commenting on the announcement Alfred said, “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to officially represent Power HD in my race schedule, hoping to share more servo parameters setting with Power HD users.  Having followed the brand for a long time, I deeply appreciate their support and assistance to me.  When I used Power HD’s servos for the first time, I was attracted by its performance.  The precise and quick response of the servos helped me to improve my performance during races.  I cannot wait to represent Power HD in upcoming competitions and showcase the superior quality of their products.”
