EXCLUSIVE – Kyosho to choose CRF as engine supplier

EXCLUSIVE - Kyosho to choose CRF as engine supplier

We have been reporting on the ongoing saga between Kyosho and Sirio for some time now and although some people dont want to believe its true, i can tell you that its happening folks. We have heard from a very reliable source in Japan that Kyosho are very close to completing a deal with Swiss company CRF to supply engines for their entire range of cars. The consequence of this deal is that Sirio, the Italian engine company who previously supplied Kyosho is out, which seems to tie in with what we have been reporting on Kyosho team drivers leaving Sirio as their engine supplier and, as it turns out, choosing CRF. Adrien Bertin left Sirio to work for Team Orion, focussing on the development of the CRF engines, Josh Cyrul is a long time CRF user and was the first Kyosho team driver to switch away from Sirio, Ilia van Gastel has been confirmed to be running CRF engines which only leaves Takaaki Shimo to confirm his position with CRF which we expect to happen at the Shizuoka Hobby show in Japan in 2 weeks time, along with the official announcement of the partnership.

Ferrari vs. Xray NT1

Ferrari vs. Xray NT1

Xray have an interesting story for us today – Many people know the classical story of David and Goliath. This classical confrontation will soon be reborn with different players on the stage; the brand new XRAY NT1 playing the role of David will come face-to-face with Goliath… a full-size Ferrari sports car! European TV – the Austrian channel ORF – has prepared a special duel… an all-out speed contest between a full-sized Ferrari and the brand new Xray NT1. Both high-tech, powerful cars will compete at a 100m speed track to see if David will once again triumph over Goliath. History may again be in the making… who will win? My money is on the NT1, if its only 100m, but we’ll find out later for sure when the showdown is broadcast this Saturday.

RB Products L2G Cooling head

RB L2G Cooling head

Lowering the center of gravity is a main concern for any driver and this is why the R&D department of RB designed a new lightened head for a lower center of gravity. Using magnesium was a first step, but the heat conductivity of this material is pretty different compared to the aluminium and that is why Rody Roem designed a brand new head to have more fins around the hot spot of the plug. This Light head fits any RB engine which comes with a separate combustion chamber: it receives a dark grey coating and the new L2G logotype. This head will be produced in a limited quantity as an optional part and will be available in mid May.
