David Ronnefalk wins at South Swedish Cup Rd2

The second round of the South Swedish Cup was held at the Tomelilla Motor Club in 1/8th Nitro and Electric Buggy classes. The Nitro Pro class saw HB Racing’s David Ronnefalk taking the overall TQ after a clean sweep in the qualifiers from HB Racing teammate, Hampus Berg in 2nd. Agama’s Jessica Palsson came in 3rd overall after the qualifiers. In the 30-minute A-main, David would bring home the win with a 1-lap margin from Hampus in 2nd. Victor Gunnarsson came in 3rd overall to round out the all-HB-Racing podium.

Bittydesign Vision E819RS buggy body shell

The latest addition to the expanding Vision buggy body shell line-up Bittydesign have released a version for the HB Racing E819RS buggy. The lid’s design will offer an easier to drive and more balanced feeling thanks to a mid-advanced cab, side pod and rear side flaps shape that optimises the aerodynamic characteristics. In addition a flap behind the engine area guides the air towards the rear wing for a smoother and more directed airflow around the shock tower and lower wing mount. The pre-cut body is moulded from high-quality 1mm Lexan polycarbonate, it comes with window masks, overspray protective film and a decal sheet.

T-Works RC8T DLC-coated shock shafts

Coming from T-Works are new DLC-coated shock shafts for the Associated RC8T truggy. Available in 57.8mm front and 66.8mm rear shafts, both types have been made of high-quality steel that has been given a DLC coating for a slick and rigid surface. The coating is usually used to protect the crankshafts of nitro engines, ensuring a very low wear and long durability of both the shock shafts and shock O-rings.

Alexandre Duchet joins ORCA team

ORCA have announced the signing of French driver Alexandre Duchet to their team. The 2016/2017 ETS stock champion and 2017 EFRA European stock champion will use the full line-up of speedos, motors and batteries in his Xray rides. He had the following to say about the deal, “I’m very happy to sign with ORCA, the performance of the new combo and the new range of LiPo batteries are really good and so is the feeling. I hope that with this material I will have very good results and I thank the ORCA team for trusting me for the years to come.”

Mugen MTC2 1/10th EP Touring car

Mugen Seiki have introduced the follow up to the MTC1, the company’s first entry into the EP touring car arena, the aptly named MTC2. The all new design has a number of new innovations including extra long carbon lower arms with new pivot inserts to eliminate slop and a low centre of gravity shock mounting position mounted using lightweight lower shock and anti-roll bar mount with adjustable ARB links. Following the current touring car trend, the MTC2 also features a mid motor configuration which makes it more stable and have a more balanced feeling on the track, while a new rear differential has smoother diff action and more consistent handling.

Horizon Hobby acquires PROTOform

This past week Horizon Hobby announced the acquisition of Pro-Line and together with the move, the Champaign, Illinois based company also took over PROTOform in the process. Founded in 1991, PROTOform Race Bodies has captured multiple IFMAR World Champions and countless national, regional, and local championship titles. In 1995, PROTOform made a strategic move by joining forces with Pro-Line Racing to expand its marketing reach and meet the increasing demand for more race-winning on-road and oval bodies. With the recent acquisition of Pro-Line Racing by Horizon Hobby, PROTOform Race Bodies joins the Horizon Hobby lineup of radio control brands.

X-Partz sensor wire Protecktor Coverz

X-Factory UK have introduced the new X-Partz sensor wire Protecktor Coverz stickers that allow to conveniently cover flat sensor wires in 2WD buggy chassis. With more and more racers preferring to use the latest flat wire sensor leads, the convenient channel in many of today’s off-road buggies because even more use than with previous thicker sensor cables. The only issue is that on most cars this channel runs under the LiPo and each time the driver removes the battery there is a risk of snagging or dislodging the sensor lead, possibly leading to damage. The sensor Protecktor Coverz are made from an adhesive heavy duty vinyl, and stick over the sensor channel once the lead is in place to conceal and protect it as well as looking really trick too. The stickers are available as four-piece sets in a range of designs for the Yokomo YZ2 DTM or CAL, Xray XB2C’20 or XB2D’20, Schumacher Cougar Laydown, and Team Associated Associated B6.1, B6.1D, B6.2 or B6.2D.

Xray XB4’21 1/10th 4WD buggy – Coming soon

Xray have announced the upcoming release of their forthcoming XB4’21 1/10th scale 4WD buggy kit. The latest incarnation of the company’s IFMAR World Championship winning XB4 series is expected to be an all-new platform, however official details are not available until its full release that is expected to happen within the next weeks.
