Russian Indoor Nationals – Report

The Russian Indoor Nationals were held in the city of Vladimir recently. The race saw the running of several electric on-road classes it was Maxim Laverychev with the overall TQ and win in the Touring Modified class from Denis Laverychev in 2nd place overall. Kirill Trofimov would complete the all-Awesomatix podium lock-out.

T-Works D819 aluminium shock standoff sets

T-Works have introduced new aluminium shock standoff sets for the HB Racing D819 series of buggies. Available is a 4-piece standard length kit as well as a 2-piece +5mm set, the latter mount the shocks at an angle in relation to the shock tower and lower arms, which can be beneficial in certain track conditions. All standoffs are machined from aircraft-grade 7075-T6 aluminium, they come hard-anodised for wear and looks and also fit the older spec 817 and 815 kits.

Exotek RB7 aluminium rear laydown bulkhead

Coming from Exotek is an aluminium heavy-duty 1-piece rear camber mount and bulkhead for the Kyosho Ultima RB7 and RB6 series laydown midship gear box. The part is of a machined 7075 alloy construction meaning is allows for repeated secure mounting and ensures no stripped nylon threads that change camber after big hits. Its appearance in anodised black with red contrasting chamfers makes for added visual impact and the part matches the stock geometry while sporting mounting points for the RB7 sway bars. At 10g the bulkhead is also 1.5g lighter than the stock nylon bulkhead.

Answer-RC B74 carbon fibre side guards

Coming from Answer-RC are their new carbon fibre side guards for the Team Associated B74 buggy. The hand-laid carbon and kevlar mix side guards are both stiff and light, scrubbing about 50 percent of weight compared to the standard moulded parts. Includes in the set are all items required to fit.

VRP D819 V3 carbon fibre rear shock tower

Vision Racing Products have announced the release of their new V3 carbon fibre rear shock tower for the HB Racing D819 and E819 buggies. The tower features new shock mounting holes that are mid spaced, the newest mounting positions being ran on the HB buggies. Another feature added to the V3 tower is the wing mounting holes. There are sets of holes that allow to use the stock HB Racing wing mount in the stock locations as well as move them up, or use the MBX8 wing mount for a finer wing height adjustment.

Contact 1/8th IC Track Light wheels

Schumacher have introduced the new Contact Light wheels for the 1/8th nitro circuit class. Developed with Contact’s high level drivers, the new “Light” range see the company pushing the boundaries of wheel material development. The improvement in plastics makes the rims 20 percent lighter, yet still with good strength, just under that of Contact’s carbon rim. Significant benefits include faster acceleration, better traction and increased cornering speeds. The new wheels are easily recognisable with their grey color 5-spoke rim and they are available as 32 shore and 35 shore front as well as 35 shore and 37 shore rear variants beginning of March.

Sweep 24mm treaded GT & FWD tyre

Sweep Racing have introduced their new 24mm wide treaded rubber tyre for 1/10th GT and FWD touring cars. It utilises a full scale tread design licensed by Hankook with the side walls featuring both Hankook and Sweep logos. The high-performance tyre is belted to prevent it from ballooning under power and to limit diameter expanding due to softening that can occur over time when using aggressive traction compounds. The tyre will come moulded from a universal compound that suits both asphalt and carpet tracks with dedicated carpet, asphalt and wet track compounds coming at a later stage.
