Tamiya TT-02 3.5mm carbon fibre shock tower

Coming soon from Tamiya is their new 3.5mm carbon fibre shock tower set for the popular TT-02 entry-level touring car. The shock stay offers four different upper shock mounting positions and locations for the body posts, allowing to use it both in the front and the rear of the chassis. The geometry allows to use it with the standard TT-02 friction damper but best results are achieved in combination with the #53571 TRF shocks absorbers and the #54874 adjustable upper arm set. Included with the shock tower comes an assortment of mounting hardware and the set will become available by mid-March.

RC Maker T4’20 GeoCarbon HD bumper stopper brace

RC Maker have announced the release of their new GeoCarbon heavy duty bumper stopper brace for the Xray T4 2020 touring car. Designed to be used as either a replacement on RC Maker’s standard bumper stopper, or inserted under any other brands carbon bumper mount, the increased 5mm thickness makes the brace incredibly strong and more impact prone in heavy crashes. This allows the carbon stopper to reach lower, leaving carbon above and below the central impact zone, making it less prone to any de-lamination in big hits, preventing damage to the chassis. The part comes machined from high-quality 5mm carbon fibre and it integrates under any carbon bumper on the market.

Reedy Zappers SG3 Competition 2S LiHV batteries

Reedy have introduced their new Zappers SG3 Competition 2S LiHV batteries for the 2020 season. They feature state-of-the-art silicon graphene LiPo cell chemistry with an emphasis on lower internal resistance with improved durability and cycle-life, resulting in more power, improved durability, and high capacity for exceptional performance. Zappers SG3 batteries feature a 7.6 nominal voltage, which means that the battery can be safely charged to 4.35V/cell. Even when the typical 8.40V charging limit is enforced, Zappers SG3 cells shine thanks to their inherently flat discharge curve, which results in higher voltage deeper into the race. The standard footprint stick line-up includes a 9600mAh 85C Stick (25.1mm/335g), 8200mAh 115C Stick (25.1mm/318g), 6000mAh 115C LP Stick (22.5mm/270g), and 5500mAh 85C ULP (19.5mm/230g). The shorty line up feature a 6100mAh 85C (25.1mm/225g), 4800mAh 115C (25.1mm/205g), 4100mAh 85C LP (18.5mm/155g), and a 3600mAh 115C LP (18.5mm/154g) battery pack. A high quality, durable hard case helps prevent damage while embedded socket connectors keep power-robbing resistance to a minimum. Male ESC connectors are included.

JConcepts Tactic street eliminator wheels

As the street eliminator scene shifts to a new gear, JConcepts is on-board with another wheel option for the popular segment. Just in time for the latest release from Team Associated, the DR10, the Tactic wheels are direct replacements and upgrades to that vehicle. The heavy spoke design and 1:1 influence impose their will on the competition. The front wheel design extends to the outer edges giving the wheel a larger look while the rear style has a mock bead lock appearance and hefty lug detail. The inner ribbing spreads like the roots of a tree to secure the inner 12mm hub geometry. The front Tactic wheels feature a 2.2” size which match to just about any existing buggy tire on the market while the rear wheel features a beefy, SCT 2.2” x 3.0” size and fit any SCT tire already produced. The wheels fit a vast number of vehicles for anyone looking to undertake a Street Eliminator project and accept a 12mm hex drive. Popular vehicles which use the Tactic wheels include, the Traxxas Slash, Bandit, Rustler as well as the popular line-up of Team Associated short course trucks and now, the purpose built DR10. The matte black and stealth look give the wheels serious street appearance and look ultra-low under any race car. The Tactic wheels match perfectly with JConcepts Hotties tires for that Street Eliminator look.

VRP XV3 XB2/XB4 series shock pistons

Vision Racing Products have announced the release of their long-awaited XV3 shock pistons for the Xray XB2 and XB4 based 1/10th scale off-road vehicles. Available as Black Flat and EU version white variants, the pistons come complete with the transition valve pre-installed. The rebound booster hole has been precision drilled to the exact size VRP’s testing found to be the best all around setting. This yields excellent results that are proven on a variety of track surfaces; from rough, blown out tracks, to smooth, indoor clay. The difference between the Black Flat and the EU White pistons is the return rate. The return hole in the EU is smaller then the Black and gives less rebound. This matches up better for higher grip surfaces like carpet and turf. The pistons are available in ten different hole diameter specifications from now on.

Lee Martin and Creation Model/Infinity part ways

Lee Martin has taken to social media the split between him and chassis sponsors Creation Model/Infinity. The former EFRA European and EOS Champion lost his sponsorship already last December and only made it official now and in the wake of next weekend’s Montpellier GP. Lee has yet to announce a new partnership but it is awaited to happen very soon. In the meantime Lee has the following to say:

The first 1/8th scale race of the year is this weekend at the Montpellier GP and it’s time that I mention that I am no longer with Infinity / Creation Model team. In the same fashion as a couple of my friends, I was too let go on the 18th December. Since then It’s been a difficult time for myself and my family as the news was unexpected. But with one door closing, another one opens and it’s a massive door! It’s an opportunity that I have been wishing to happen for years and I am super excited to get going! That’s all I will say for now, more details will follow very shortly.
