Smokem Racing T4’20 MYD carbon fibre top deck

Following the release of Smokem Racing’s MYD top deck for the ARC R11 MID comes a design to suit the Xray T4 2020. The top deck is of a design that features a narrow 9mm front section which was found to deliver balanced flex characteristics despite the asymmetric design. The result is improved traction, increased in-corner steering and corner speed. The MYD design ensures the top deck will never make contact with the motor as the chassis flexes, with clearance for large-pinioned spec class gearing. The MYD top deck can also be easily removed, making spur gear and belt changes a breeze. The part is machined from high-quality 2.0mm carbon fibre and it is a direct fit.

RC Maker T4’20 carbon fibre floating electronics plate

RC Maker have introduced their Xray T4 2020 floating electronics weight plate in a carbon fibre variant. Weighing in at 12g for the set, 10g of that being close to the centre of the chassis with 2g being the carbon plate, the set is adding minimal weight to the motor side of the chassis. The plate attaches to the often unused antenna mount hole but if owners still want to use this antenna mount, they can use an extra long screw through the lower weight, and thread the antenna mount on-top. Another added bonus is that the construction makes it easy to change chassis or clean the car as the receiver, transponder and fan are simply extracted by undoing one screw.

Yokomo USA sign Eric Epp

Yokomo USA have announced the signing of Protoform’s own Eric Epp to their factory race team. Eric has been a staple in the touring car scene for many years and has shown great speed on the track. Everyone at Yokomo is looking forward to this great collaboration with Eric and the all-new BD10 mid-motor touring car. Eric says:

So excited about the new drive with Team Yokomo! A huge thanks to Joe Pillars for the opportunity! We’ve already had an awesome track day with 15 Yokomo drivers all shaking down the new BD10 together. I can tell how much fun it’s gonna be with this team of super fast dudes. The amount of support helping get up to speed with the new gear is incredible! All of this really feels like coming full circle for me: My first ever RC car as a little kid was a foam-tire Yokomo F1 car that I would drive around my parents linoleum kitchen floor. And the first ever IFMAR title for PROTOform was won by the legendary Masami Hirosaka driving a Yokomo! So this brand as always been close to my Dad’s and my heart. Gonna be a great 2020!
