X-Factory SCX-60 short course truck

X-Factory SCX-60 short course truck

X-Factory are showing off images of the new hand made SCX-60 short course truck which team driver Brian Kinwald has been busy developing. They are made one at a time by Speedy Dad in Phoenix, who is X-Factory Teamer Alex Krieg’s father. He cuts 2 X-60 chassis’ apart and glues them back together to make one longer scx – 60 short course chassis, adding CF reinforcements. The chassis’ come out just as stiff as the originals and no Speedy Dad chassis has broken so far where it was put together. X-Factory got the idea to make these because Speedy Dad had put together numerous chassies for Team testing on various projects, so this was easy for him, the technique was already perfected. Of course Alex had the first one, and he set fastest lap at the 2009 ROAR Nationals with it. They are expensive, the customer must either start with an X-60 donor truck or buy both the chassis and an X-60 Conversion Kit to convert either a T4 or an SC10. Available only from X Factory by e-mail (chazz@4wdrc.com).

CRC Losi XXX-T Short Course conversion

CRC Losi XXX-T Short Course conversion

CRC are offering a conversion for the Losi XXX-T to turn them into a SC Truck. The set converts most all XXX-T truck kits from Team Losi, including the Desert Truck & XXX-T CR utilizing carbon fiber chassis extensions that allow you to use your stock rear bottom plate. Using the stock rear bottom plate makes converting any XXX-T a breeze because there will be no complications with the rear arm mounts, transmissions, etc not matching up. RTR’s, MF 1’s, MF 2’s, Desert Trucks, and the newest XXX-T CR’s can all be converted using this setup, however the CR will require you to replace the quick change hubs and axles over to standard type axles.

Xray Column – EC indoor, EC 1/12, Silverstate, LRP Masters, Neo

Xray Column – EC indoor, EC 1/12, Silverstate, LRP Masters, Neo

The 42nd installment in the Xray column from Xray owner and chief designer Juraj Hudy is now online. In this months column he talks about what has happened since he last wrote about his travels to Pattaya, Thailand for the Worlds Warmup race.

Running from an airport in UK with a quick stop at home, I have just landed now in Spain (southern Europe), taking the rent-a-car and driving to Portugal. It is already April and in the last few weeks I have had no time to stop for a minute and write my monthly column, so non-traditionally I have been taking care of that at the 1/8 off-road EC Warm-up. Six large race events within 5–6 weeks… this would overwhelm just about anybody.
