Pro-Line Caliber 2.2″ M3 tires

Pro-Line Caliber 2.2" M3 tires

Following the sneak peak last week, Pro-Line have released their popular Caliber tread for 1:10 Off-Road buggy both front and rear. The Caliber takes tire technology to the next level by optimizing traction, control, balance, and tire wear with its dual-stage design. The smaller top pin penetrates through loose dirt while delivering unbelievable side and forward bite. The base pin works as a support for the top pin while acting as a dual-stage design once the top pin is worn down. You can rely on the base pin for greater tread life wear and it works well on those tracks that are prone to blue-groove or have a super clean surface.

Boca Bearings Gold, Silver & Bronze standard line

Boca Bearings Gold, Silver & Bronze standard line

The Boca Bearing Company have announced their new Gold Standard, Silver Standard & Bronze Standard line of 5mm x 10mm clutch bell bearings. As RC drivers continue their quest for more speed and better performance, the clutch bell is a constant source of problems due to excessive heat build up, which can result in the bearings failing prematurely. For the expert driver looking for the best performance the ideal solution to the retainer issue is to do away with it altogether. The Gold Standard bearing is the ultimate clutch bell bearing designed with the serious racer in mind and has stainless steel races and shields with a full compliment of ceramic balls. Because Ceramic is impervious to heat there are no issues with the balls expanding as temperatures rise giving this bearing a life expectancy of 5 times that of a standard bearing. For the intermediate driver looking for a more affordable solution with longevity, there is the Silver Standard clutch bearings that come with Stainless Steel races, shields and a full compliment of steel balls. The balls will still expand under extreme heats but the bearing will stand up far longer than average because there is no retainer to break apart. The Bronze Standard line of clutch bell bearings consists of the company’s tried and true Green Seal series that has proven to be far superior to stock bearings and can handle plenty of clutch bell abuse and are perfect for clutch environments where excessive heat is not an issue.

Hot Bodies new Cyclone prototype

Hot Bodies new Cyclone prototype

As we reported yesterday, Japanese Hot Bodies factory driver Atsushi Hara won the TITC in Bangkok, Thailand. Along with his team mate Andy Moore, the double World Champion was using a prototype version of the new Cyclone touring car chassis and we have these exclusive photos of it. We weren’t given any specifics on the car itself other than it is a prototype and parts are subject to change, but both drivers were said to be very happy with the new car’s performance and with both making the A-main and Hara taking the win, it obviously works pretty well. What we can tell from the images is that it features a new LiPo only chassis plate and that there is a different belt orientation to help bring the motor closer to the car’s centre line. Other changes are the new longer top deck, which while not a single piece from front to back, it goes the entire length between the front and rear main axles, meeting just forward of the motor position and removing the aluminium chassis brace on the right side. There also appears to be new lower front wishbones along with aluminium steering blocks and with the steering servo orientated 90 degrees to standard, there is also a new servo saver system.
