Gmade BOM 1/10th 4WD trail truck

Gmade have released first information and images of their forthcoming BOM 1/10th scale 4WD trail truck. The kit builds on a scale-looking ladder frame constriction with stand-up front shock and laydown rear dampers that make way for the scale roll cage construction. The steering servo is located in the front part of the chassis and the steering assembly is of a zero-Ackermann design for maximised steering performance. Angled front king pins minimise the scrub radius for further increased steering efficiency. The heavy-duty threaded aluminium shock absorbers utilise 3.5mm shock shafts and the transmission, with all-metal internal gears, is of a torque twist reducing design. Optionally a 2-speed hi/lo transmission conversion will become available to add speed when needed. The kit is rounded out by grippy tyres, a cool looking body shell a couple of scale accessories.

Double Ceramic ceramic motor bearings & lube

Double Ceramic from California have introduced their new ceramic motor bearings as well as their ceramic-infused bearing lube. The first product is focusing on reducing magnetic interference around the motor to maximise electric motor performance. The full ceramic 540 motor Bearing achieves this with the use of Zirconium Oxide balls and races, which has 80 percent less friction than bare chrome steel balls, while also being 40 percent lighter. This results in less centrifugal force on the balls and less heat generation between the balls and races. The bearing also uses a variation of Double Ceramic’s custom moulded PEEK cage, resulting in no magnetic interference in brushless motors, resulting in quicker spool-up and higher RPM. The Full Ceramic motor bearing also contains no shielding, further reducing friction and increasing high RPM capability.

ProTek 155 series high-voltage servos

ProTek RC have announced two powerful high-voltage, digital servos in the form of the 155T and 155S. They are usable for both 1/10th scale and 1/8th scale applications and feature precisely machined cases with deep, machined cuts in the lower cases that work as a heatsink to provide additional cooling. The 155T (0.08s/32.6kg-cm) and 155S (0.06s/26.6kg-cm) servos are ProTek’s first to feature a conformal coating – a thin layer of polymeric film that contours to the printed circuit board to protect against vibrations, moisture, dust, chemicals and extreme temperatures. Both servos operate from 4.8 to 7.4V, so they can easily handle high voltage input when conditions warrant maximum speed and torque. Other features include powerful coreless motors, metal gears and black receiver wires for that factory look.

JConcepts Truth 2 UTV Slash 2WD/4×4 body shell

Coming from JConcepts and made to outfit the Traxxas Slash 2WD and 4×4 short course trucks is the Truth 2 UTV body shell. The new shell draws an inspiration from Glamis, California, where peace of mind, relaxation and all-out performance pack the dunes each weekend. The T2 body was started as a clean slate design and sculpted with high-impact features, detailed front fascia and large angular wheel wells. The rigid design fits right into the line-up as the body shares styling cues from key family designs such as the Finnisher line of off-road racing bodies. The large surface roof and cage are profiled to ensure proper integration with the popular Slash and Slash 4×4 chassis. Inside clearance has been maximised for a vast assortment of inner features any customer might have installed. The body comes clear and including large footprint window masks and a detailed decal sheet.
