JConcepts Reedy Sonic aluminium timing cover

JConcepts introduces an all new aluminium timing cover accessory for the Reedy Sonic motor. The aluminium acts as an additional heat sink transferring heat to an additional surface spreading the heat out over more area. The timing cover also has increased depth which allows more sensor wire plug protection in the event of a crash or collision. The timing cover is CNC machined, available in blue and black colors and includes upgraded hardware for installation. In addition, each cover also includes a molded sensor wire holder and hardware which routes wires in the up position which decreases possible wire snags or drop-outs which lead to unfinished races. Available in anodised blue or black.

Keven Hébert signs Associated/Reedy extension

Team Associated and Reedy are very happy to announce that Keven Hébert has signed a multi-year contract extension and will continue to race Team Associated’s TC6.1 Worlds, 12R5.2, and 10R5.1. Keven will now be using Reedy Sonic Mach 2 motors in all his vehicles and will continue using Reedy LiPo batteries and LRP Flow Works Team ESCs. Reedy department manager Rick Hohwart was happy to hear the news of the extension, saying, “Keven is one of the fastest drivers in the world and his input is highly valuable when it comes to developing new products. Not only is a he a great racer, but he is always willing to help fellow racers with questions and feedback regarding setups, gearing, etc.” Keven was excited about the signing, saying,

I am looking forward to continuing my racing career with AE/Reedy and working closely with the R&D department in the development of new and exciting products. I appreciate the opportunity and look forward to the remainder of 2013 and beyond.

Reedy Sonic 540 Mach 2 brushless motors

Having had the first photos and product details last week, Reedy today have officially released the full information on the new Sonic 540 Mach 2 brushless motors. The motor will be available in 4 different spec versions, 10.5, 13.5, 17.5 & 21.5 as well as a complete range of modified versions when it is released later this month. Reedy Sonic 540 Mach 2 motor

At the JConcepts Winter Indoor Nationals Reedy are debuting their new Sonic 540 Mach 2 motor. Small modifications were made to enhance performance, reliability and user-friendliness. A new alloy end cap replaces the plastic version to prevent accidental timing movement and to provide better bearing alignment. Strategically placed vent holes are now slightly smaller to reduce the chance of debris entering the motor while still maintaining excellent airflow. Internal changes include new bearing sizes to increase maximum RPM and to improve reliability as well as silver plated solder tabs to reduce power robbing resistance. The precision balanced high-strength sintered rotor remains the same as in the original model with a variety of optional rotors available to fine-tune for specific applications and tracks. New 6.0, 7.0, and 8.0 models are now available for greater fine-tuning for specific conditions.

Reedy 350mAh 7.4V LiPo RX battery

Reedy’s 350mAh 7.4V LiPo RX battery is perfect for use in 1S powered 1:12 and 1:10 pan cars that require a receiver battery, or in applications where the use of a receiver battery is advantageous.
