Eliminate the ‘motor-of-the-week’ madness with Reedy’s Sonic 540-FT Competition Brushless Motor. Designed for performance and value, the Sonic 540-FT Fixed-Timing is a great motor for racers, clubs and racing series that want to equalise performance among participants at an economical price. Coming from Reedy is the Sonic 540-M3 25.5T ROAR spec brushless motor. Built to meet ROAR’s unique guidelines for 25.5 turn motors used in Formula and VTA racing classes, the motor’s resistance measures at the minimum legal value and it shares the same features list as the rest of the 540-M3 line. The M3 series utilises CNC-machined 3-piece cans, aluminium end caps, low-resistance, silver-plated solder tabs, optimised air cooling and dual precision ball bearings.
Coming from Reedy are three new Zappers LiHV battery packs for a range of applications. All are made using high-voltage LiPo cells with a nominal voltage of 3.8V, which is 0.1V higher than standard LiPo cells, resulting in more overall power. Also the cells can be charged safely to up to 4.35V per cell over the standard 4.2V. While all this only applies to outlaw racing classes the Zappers high-voltage packs can also be charged to the standard 4.2V per cell for sanctioned racing where the packs show a flatter discharge curve compared to standard voltage cells. Available now are 6000mAh standard-size and 3600mAh shorty-style 2S packs. The standard-size pack is of 23mm low-profile specifications while the shorty pack is only 18.5mm high. They weigh in at 276g and 156g respectively, and thus offer great power to weight ratio. Also new is a 8000mAh 1S pack of 18.5mm height. The 1/12th scale specific battery weighs in at 153g.

CML Distribution have announced the singing of French top driver, Antoine Rosetti to their team. Antoine will race in the French 1/10th Championship in order to qualify for the European Championship in 2018, which will take place in Reims. He brings with him a wealth of experience and victories including a 2WD third place in 2011 from the European Championship in Pau. Antoine will be running the RC10B6/B6D in 2WD and the new RC10B64D in 4WD, powering his cars will be the Reedy Mach 3 brushless motors, Reedy 510R Blackbox ESCs and Reedy LiPo batteries. The whole of team CML UK and CML France welcome Antoine and look forward to some great results in 2017 and beyond.

Reedy have introduced their new Blackbox 510R brushless speed controller. Housed in a black anodised aluminium case with integrated heatsink the ESC features an adjustable standard or high-voltage BEC system, RPM and ESC temp data logging, an on-board power button as well as fully adjustable brake, throttle, power and safety functions. With the help of the PROgrammer2 box the controller’s software functions can be fully exploded and as an addition the box operates also as a battery monitor and USB firmware update device. The 510R ESC includes two modes that can be modified and saved independently from one another. The standard mode offers a wide variety of tuning options while the expert mode takes it one step further and opens additional options for more experienced racers and/or racing classes that can take advantage of these more complex settings.

Coming from Reedy is the 540-SL4 sensorless brushless motor for ready-to-run vehicles. Due to its 4-pole configuration, the motor offers high power, efficiency and reliability as it is needed for demanding RTR applications. The 3300kV rating provides plenty of speed with 2S LiPo batteries but installing a 3S LiPo battery makes for even higher speeds. At the same time does a high-strength rotor provide plenty of torque and resists overheating better than 2-pole alternatives. The motor comes pre-wired with flexible silicone wires that ease wire routing in tight spaces and work in conjunction with 3.5mm bullet connectors to reduce power-robbing resistance and heat. The package is rounded out by triple insulated windings, a hardened steel shaft, and oversized ball bearings.

After making some updates, the Reedy LiPo battery weight set is back in stock. These weights have been modified (now 22g and 36g) with the value laser etched onto each piece along with the world-famous Reedy Powered logo. These weights can be used together or separately under your low-profile shorty LiPo battery to add ballast and/or lower the vehicle’s CG for improved handling. Each set is precision cut from brass and contains one .5mm (22g) weight and one 1mm (36g) weight, which can be used together or separately.

Reedy’s new high voltage Shorty Zappers are here. Perfect for use in modified classes, a 7.6 nominal voltage means that with a suitable charger, the battery can be safely charged to 8.7V (4.35V/cell) and its no secret that more voltage equals more power, so there is no easier way to achieve a performance advantage than a higher charge voltage. A 70C rating reduces initial punch for modified class racers while still producing a flatter discharge curve to close the power gap between the beginning and end of a race. Available in 5400mAh and 5800mAh versions, a high quality, durable hard case helps prevent damage while heavy-duty 5mm socket connectors keeps power-robbing resistance to a minimum.
