SMD have released their new Evolution box, a more powerful light weight starter box at a reasonable price. This new box has improved twin 775 motors, which have more stalling torque than even the largest single motor boxes around. In tests this box easily started a new engine, which is the biggest test of power for any box especially in the cold winter months. Powered by twin 7.2v stick packs, or a 7A 12v battery, it also features adjustable mounting blocks, making it suitable for most 1/10th & 1/8th kits.
SMD in the UK have added another new starter box to their currently line up, aimed straight at the person who is tired of pulling pull starts, this box has enough power from its 775 motor to get even the most stubborn engine started. It takes a 12v gel cell for the ultimate cranking power and economy and unlike many entry level boxes on the market this is fully enclosed protecting the mechanism and battery from the outside elements.
Spire Model Distribution in the UK have produced their own starter box for off road cars and those with in line motors. Featuring the usual twin motors and belt driven starter wheel, this starter box is different in that it use 775 motors in place of the usual 540 versions thus giving 50% more torque and enabling you to turn over your brand new engine in even the coldest conditions. Available in February.
