Spektrum DX5 Rugged DSMR transmitter orange

Horizon Hobby have introduced the new Spektrum DX5 Rugged DSMR transmitter in a special orange edition. The 5-channel surface transmitter redefines radio control with a level of durability to match the tough conditions off-roaders, bashers and boaters encounter constantly. The designers started with a chassis based on the Spektrum ergonomic design found on the popular DX5C and competition favourite DX5 Pro. From there, they integrated cordless power tool feature ideas for the die-hard punishment those products endure. The result is an RC system with exceptional durability in addition to other innovative features that unite with a level of precision, versatility and convenience.

Spektrum DX5C 5-channel DSMR radio system

Horizon Hobby have introduced the new Spektrum DX5C 5-channel DSMR radio system that adds AVC and Smart Compatibility to any vehicle with the SR6100AT AVC receiver. The transmitter is the perfect savvy solution for bashers, boaters and scalers who want a staggering list of advanced features that includes the virtually unlimited possibilities 5-channel control offers. Built around frequency-agile, DSMR 2.4GHz technology, owners can use the DX5C in any type of surface application and it is also backwards compatible with DSM2 Spektrum receivers. When combined with Spektrum Firma Smart speed controllers and Spektrum Smart capable receivers, the DX5C receives telemetry data right to the transmitter through the Smart Throttle port on the receiver. Smart Throttle ESCs can send RPM, speed, ESC temp, volts and amp draw. Included with the transmitter comes the SR6100AT 6-channel AVC/Telemetry receiver but the radio is also available as a transmitter-only set.

Spektrum Firma Smart brushless speed controllers

Horizon Hobby have introduced their all-new Spektrum Firma Smart Technology high-performance brushless speed controllers. Like every component in the Spektrum Smart ecosystem, Firma Smart ESCs combine “plug-and-play” simplicity with the ability to communicate with other Smart electronics, creating a very well-performing RC system. With Firma Smart ESCs, owners are better connected to their vehicle than ever before — without installing extra components that all work independently of each other. There is no need for extra wires, modules, or links. A Firma electronic speed control provides a one-wire solution for obtaining telemetry data such as RPM, temperature, battery voltage and capacity. Firma ESCs not only gather the data but also send it to compatible transmitters in real time, instead of only storing it for after-run study. Users are able to adjust settings as needed to boost performance on the go. The range includes the Firma 160A 3S-8S controller, the Firma 150A 3S-6S ESC as well as the Firma 130A 2S-4S speedo. All feature an all-weather waterproof design, EC3/EC5 backwards compatible battery connectors as well as the One-Wire telemetry function. Multiple programming options are available for each controller. Button programming can be used with nothing more needed. Using the Smart Firma ESC Programming Box, drivers can easily change settings at the track to suit driving conditions. An easy-to-use Smart Link USB Updating and PC Programmer app is also available.

Spektrum Smart S1500 DC charger

Coming soon from Spektrum is the Smart S1500 DC 500W DC multi-chemistry charger. Compact enough to carry in a pocket or field bag the charger’s improved, extra-precise scroll wheel interface simplifies setup. When used with Spektrum Smart LiPo batteries having IC3 or IC5 connectors, the device also uploads specific parameters and health data from the battery’s integrated memory chip and displays it on the bright LCD screen for review — giving drivers the information they need to evaluate the packs and make the best charging decisions. For input power the charger uses compatible DC power sources with the included IC3 power cable adapter. The S1500 also has a USB port, a software update port, plus a safety timer and protection against heat, reverse polarity, short circuit, over-current, and low input voltage.

Spektrum Smart 16A 380W power supply

Coming from Spektrum’s new Smart series is a 16A 380W power supply. Robust and powerful, this 380 watt unit easily converts any standard AC current from a 100-240V wall outlet to 16A of clean DC current. Spektrum Smart technology delivers a cooling fan that features on-demand operation to make the unit as quiet as possible and the device also features protection against over temperature, over loading and short circuits. All this power is tapped via a Convenient iC3 output connector.

Spektrum DX5 Rugged 2.4GHz radio system

Horizon Hobby have introduced the new Spektrum DX5 Rugged 2.4GHz radio system. The 5-channel surface system redefines radio control with unmatched innovation in durability that no off-roader, basher or boater will want to be without. The result is precision control, convenience, and rugged versatility. Inspired by the ergonomically recognised Spektrum DX5 Pro and DX5C transmitters, the water-resistant chassis offers protection against minor splashes, it offers surrounded rubber-bumper chassis protection and an innovative thumb-steering lever makes one-hand operation safer and more precise. Software-wise the radio rocks features such as steering mix, 4-wheel steering mixes, Motor-On-Axle (MOA), plus one assignable mix and it includes the compact Spektrum SR515 5-channel DSMR sport receiver. The radio will hit stores early next year.

Spektrum SR515, SR315 & SR215 DSMR sports receivers

Spektrum have introduced their new SR515, SR315 and SR215 DSMR sports class receivers. Built around frequency-agile DSMR technology, the receivers deliver superb range and response, especially in noisy RF environments where a solid 2.4GHz link is crucial. Not only is the 2.4GHz link solid, all models also implement Spektrum’s fast 5.5ms frame rate, providing a quicker, low-latency connection for the pro-level enthusiast. The SRx15 series receivers also feature a new, modern case design that is small, streamlined, and ready for nearly any RC application. The case also features added antenna support and an integrated antenna tube slot for seamlessly easy installation. An easy-to-use bind button is used to enter the bind mode. Plus, while binding, owners have the choice of SmartSafe as well as preset ‘Gas’ failsafe options. The receivers are available as SR515 5-channel, SR315 3-channel and SR215 2-channel variants from December.

Spektrum Smart 30A power supply

Horizon Hobby have introduced the new Spektrum Smart 30A power supply. The switching DC power supply offers up to 30A of current while a temperature controlled cooling fan delivers on-demand operation to make the unit as quiet as possible. Owners also get protection against over temperature, over loading and short circuits. Current status and adjustable output voltage are easily viewed on a large LCD display. The power supply runs on 120V to 240V and it features dual power outputs and dual 5V/1A USB ports to power mobile devices, pit lamps, speakers and more.
