JConcepts Dirt-Tech steering wheel foam grip

JConcepts Dirt-Tech steering wheel foam grip

New from JConcepts comes the Dirt-Tech steering wheel foam grip. The durable, gray coloured material made famous as tyre inserts has now reached the all important steering wheel for radios. Specifically designed for the Sanwa/Airtronics M12, the Dirt-Tech steering grip has a convenient size which allows for use on multiple radios including Futaba, KO and Spektrum. The outer diameter has a neutral size which gives drivers great control regardless of hand gripping size. Justified toward the outside section, revolved cuts identify the wheel as being Dirt-Tech but also provide an additional feel. Orientate the grip in the opposite direction to place the revolved cuts just under the finger tips.

Spektrum S6270 low profile HV race servo

Spektrum S6270 low profile HV race servo

Spektrum have introduced their new S6270 low profile HV race surface servo which has been designed for customers who are racing the 22 v2.0 or similar mid-motor mount 1/10 buggies and trucks that require a low profile servo. Because of the mid mount setup, not much space is available for the servo and a low profile servo works best. Being a HV (High Voltage) servo the S6270 can take input voltage from 6V to 8.4V with speed performance ranging from .07 sec. to a lightning fast .05 sec. Add its waterproof case, tight deadband, and coreless motor and robust metal gear train and this servo is hard to beat.

Spektrum S9010 & S9020 large-scale servos

Spektrum S9010 & S9020 large-scale servos

Seen for the first time at the recent Nuremberg Toyfair, Spektrum soon have their new S9010 and S9020 large-scale servos available. Developed by Paul Beard, who brought the 2.4GHz technology to RC, the servos will feature a patent-pending back EMF technology that does away with fading issues and weak holding power while dynamic breaking technology assures the vehicle maintains the heading demanded thanks to the servo’s high level of holding power. An improved integrator design virtually eliminates the crowbar effect while keeping the servo temperatures low. Using back EMF technology, position lock exponentially improves the servos ability to keep its position while greatly increasing holding power. The servos are currently in development and will become available in the near future.

Spektrum DX4C transmitter

Spektrum DX4C transmitter

Spektrum have released their new DX4C transmitter and SRS4210 receiver combo. You get a Spektrum 2.4GHz computer radio with an array of features typically found in higher priced models as well as the new DSMR-equipped SRS4210 receiver with patent-pending AVC (Active Vehicle Control). The DX4C uses 4-channels to operate steering, throttle and AVC technology separately. The first two channels operate steering and throttle while the second two manage AVC steering and throttle augmentation. By having two channels dedicated to managing AVC technology, users can adjust the steering and throttle elements independently of the other for more refined tuning to meet demands of any surface.

DJ Apolaro signs with Spektrum

DJ Apolaro signs with Spektrum

Spektrum signs National Champion and recent winner of the 2013 Winternats, DJ Apolaro to use all Spektrum products for the 2013 year. Having tested the radio and servos at the recent U.S. Open Fuel Championship, Apolaro was very pleased with the results, taking the TQ and Win. This is what DJ has to say about the deal:

First I would like to thank Craig Kaplan at Hobby People/Airtronic’s for their support over the past few years. We had great success together and they are a great group of people. I now look forward to my new venture with Horizon and Spektrum. Having tested the products at the Open Race and feeling very connected with the equipment was great. I want to thank Sonny Brown at Horizon for the opportunity and look forward to showing just how great the Spektrum products are. This weekend it was very easy to use the new radio with the simplified menu. That combined with the very precise servos was just awesome.
