To be able to perfectly fine tune your Vortex Pro Brushless motor Team Orion’s international racing team have developed new tuning armatures. With different inner and outer diameters, and therefore different magnetic field strengths, they allow the motor to be adjusted in its acceleration and top speed characteristics. Six new armatures are now available for the 2010 Vortex Pro motors and the Swiss company have provided a handy tech chart to help you choose the right armature for your application and needs.

Team Orion Experience 2 Pro & Vortex 10 motor

The Team Orion Experience 2 Pro is a sensorless brushless speed control for high torque applications delivering maximum acceleration and runtime. Similar to the version announced 2 days ago it too features automatic setup, plug & play technology, but doesn’t come with the Traxxas mount and is equipped with a Deans high power connector. This forward/brake/reverse ESC is made for 6-7 NiMH/NiCd cells and is LiPo/LiFe ready (2-3s) and it delivers 70A continuous and 360A peak current. The new 550 sized Vortex 10 motor is a 2800KV high torque motor designed for the use in off-road applications such as 1/10 scale buggies or short course trucks. It features a robust gun-metal casing, integrated cooling fins, multiple mounting holes and can be used with 6-7cells NiMH/NiCd or 2-3S LiPo/LiFe batteries.

To fit the very popular Traxxas Slash, the large size heatsink features two mounting holes and so can be installed in the car with two screws, just like the standard Slash ESC and it also comes standard with the TRX high power connector.

Team Orion’s new Advantage Digital Balancer is the ideal tool for checking LiPo and LiFe battery status. Just plug in the battery and in an instant you know it’s charge status. If it is unbalanced, this balancer will take care of it. You can balance your 1-6S LiPo and LiFe batteries stand alone and during the charge. If you have a charger with no integrated balancer, this is a great solution. The balancer also shows you the voltage of the individual cells and of the complete pack and you can check the status of your battery at any time.

Team Orion Rocket Packs with integrated balancer port

Team Orion are showing off their new range of Rocket Packs that feature an integrated balancer socket, removing the need for a small wire and socket coming out of the pack allowing you to easier position your battery in the car. Supplied with the relevant cable to connect the charger balancer to the balancer port. Other updates on the battery line up include the new 5400mAh 45C Carbon race pack, the new one cell 3.7V 4200mAh 45C pack and new 4S, 5S and 6S packs packs for 1/8th off road. For the E-Revo and mini E-Revo there is a large range of LiPo packs for each of the cars in a range of power ratings and which come with a range of different skins to customise the look of these packs. The Swiss company were also showing off their new line of 6.6V LiFe packs which go up to 3800mAh with 60C.
