Jared Tebo inks deal with Tekno RC

Following a lot of rumours on social media Tekno have finally announced the signing of Jared Tebo to their factory team. Not only is Jared regarded as one of the best drivers in the world, but as a former world champion he brings a wealth of experience to the team. Jared will be racing as well as assisting in the setup and development of Tekno’s entire lineup of 1/8th and 1/10th vehicles. The former long-time Kyosho driver had the following to say:

I am beyond excited to be joining the Tekno family for 2019 and 2020! I’ve noticed the growth in customers and the great track presence that they’ve had, and that’s something I wanted to be a part of. Daniel and Matt attend a lot of races, and you can see the passion they have for RC cars and the industry. Tekno has taken a different approach with their brand, and they strive to create innovative products with great performance. I can’t wait to race the cars and share my input of 18 years professional racing experience. I think the combined results together are going to be great, and the experience will be exciting. I will be racing the full 1/8 NP, 1/8 EP, and 1/10 EP line of vehicles! I want to say THANK YOU to Daniel, Matt, and all the Tekno staff for this opportunity. I feel very welcomed already, and I’m excited to work with and meet all my new teammates! Bring on 2019, see you all soon …

Tekno introduce new 1/10 & 1/8 options

Coming from Tekno are several new option parts for their line of 1/10th and 1/8th scale vehicles. First up and coming for the EB410 and Et410 are heavy duty differential outdrives and diff couplers. The new heavy-duty outdrives and coupler retain the same physical dimensions as the standard EB410 and ET410 parts but have less material removed for improved durability and impact resistance. They are recommended when running in harsh conditions. The HD outdrives and diff coupler are also ideal for carpet racing with frequent on-power jump landings. They are made from the same material and are a direct replacement for TKR6514/TKR6597.

Leadfinger Racing ET410 Strife body shell

Leadfinger Racing have introduced their Strife body shell for the Tekno RC ET410 1/10th 4WD truck. The design idea comes from it’s much larger brother, the ET48 Strife body. To see if the idea would work, Leadfinger started by shortening the cab and rear truck bed, then narrowing the entire original mould to better suited the smaller ET410. The final step was to reverse or flip the front mounting posts. This gave LFR the room needed to install the front clips and clear the front cowling, making it a drop fit. The body comes clear and including window masks and sticker sheet.

Tekno RC Traktion Drive kit

Tekno RC have reintroduced their Trakton Drive. This system gives your electric vehicle a ‘nitro feel’ and improves consistency by reducing the instant acceleration of modern electric systems. Employing a special clutch shoe and spring design to engage the shoes in the clutch bell, it’s engaged at zero RPM and has no lag but still provides some ‘give’ on hard acceleration or impacts. It’s extremely helpful on loose or rough tracks as it will smooth the power delivery as the vehicle traverses through bumps. If you’re a nitro and electric racer, this system will make transitioning between the two vehicles easier as your electric vehicle will feel more like a nitro.
