Toy Fair 2010 – Traxxas

Traxxas were showing off their wares again this year with the focus on their stand on the new Slash 4×4. This RTR short course truck is supplied with the Velineon brushless sytem, power cell battery and the company’s new TQ 2.4Ghz radio. This shaft driven car also includes Revo spec differentials, torque control slipper clutch and new steering system. There is also a new Platinum edition of the Slash 4×4, a factory works race truck that comes pre built with a clear body, servo, motor and speed controller and ready to accept your own battery and receiver. The car also comes with front and rear anti-roll bars, aluminium shock absorbers, aluminum rear up rights and aluminium front C-hubs.

Pro-Line Slash Chassis saver

Pro-Line have released this new chassis saver for the Traxxas Slash. During track testing of the ProTrac kit for Slash, it became clear to the Pro-Line development team that the the short course truck’s chassis had a weakness resulting in numerous broken chassis and shortened track sessions. To resolve the issue they created this chassis saver set, which strengthens the rear shock tower mounting ears.

Pro-Line Silverado, 14RS & more

Judging by their January releases Pro-Line have been busy with a whole host of new bodies, tires and wheels being announced. Starting with the new Chevy Silverado Short course truck body, perfect for Chevy race fans to deck out their Slash or SC10 chassis’. Also for the same SC cars, is this 14RS shell, which resembles more a Dakar style race truck than your traditional Short course race truck. Both bodies are sold clear and supplied with window mask and decal sheets. Bringing colour to your racing, PL now offer their range of Split six wheels in 2 additional colours, white and yellow, in addition to the already available black versions.

JConcepts Illuzion Manta SC body shell

JConcepts have released a sneak preview of their new Illuzion Manta short course body shell. Designed to fit the Slash, Slash 4×4 and SC10, the shell has been inspired from the ground up to turn these short course trucks into high performance machines. Its features include a scale inspired body, cab and window design, aggressive headlight and grill treatment with racing influence, front and rear fender flares for maximum clearance and an extended cab with recessed windows.

Team Orion E-Revo LiPo packs

Team Orion have released a new line of LiPo batteries for both the Traxxas 1/10 E-Revo and 1/16th E-Revo. Developed with a special hard case form to be able to put a maximum of capacity into the battery compartment, this carbon look design enables you to fit your truck with the company’s carbon molecular LiPo technology with up to 45C of discharge and 3C charge for the 1/10th packs and 35C of discharge and 3C charge for the 1/16th packs. Supplied with 3 different battery skins, the packs are available in multiple capacities and discharge ratings.

Venom Slash VXL & E-Revo Options

Venom have released a massive number of new optional parts for the Traxxas Slash VXL and E-Revo. Most parts have been CNC machined from high grade aluminium and almost all are available in anodised orange, gun metal and grey and help improve strength in the area where they are used. Parts that are available include front steering knuckles, front lower arms, front c-hubs, rear lower arms, steering set, battery holder, rear universal shafts, rear shock towers, front bulkheads, gear cover, rear gearbox, rear knuckles, wheels, shock caps, front & rear shocks, wheel hex adapters, tie rods, push rods, front & rear suspension mounts, servo saver and titanium pivot balls.
