X-Factory X-6 Squared now available

X-Factory X-6 Squared now available

X-Factory were in contact to tell us that they have now shipped the new X-6 Squared Kits to their distributors. The first Kits were shipped last Friday, and more went out on Saturday and at the beginning of this week, so they should all start arriving at distributors soon. They will now turn their attentions to sending the kits directly to dealers. X Factory president Chazz had the following to say:

The X-6 Squared is the biggest product launch we’ve ever had at X Factory. We have almost as many Kits pre-sold to the distributor and dealer Family as we sold in the entire year 2007. The Squared will go up on our web site for retail sales late this week.  Everybody will be able to get their Squared most quickly through their local hobby store.

X-Factory X-6 one-piece chassis

We showed you the first photos of the new X-6 Squared last week and today X-Factory has sent us this photo outlining some more details of the new car. The main new feature is that the car sports a new one-piece chassis, eliminating the nose piece that removes a step in assembly, two threaded inserts and four bolts, to save weight. The car has been designed to accept LiPo first and cells second, using the new carbon fiber battery hold-down and the car also uses the AE servo mounting system, with two screws up from the bottom, which eliminates a large plastic part and two more screws. Two antenna positions allow the receiver to be mounted on either side of the car while new molded graphite rear wishbones can be used on either side of the car. Finally a new carbon fibre rear shock tower allows a better fit for the wing, gives .050″ more suspension up-travel yet retains same geometry as the original X-6. Company president Chazz said:

We’re still on track to ship X-6 Squared Kits to our Dealer Family all over the world  late next week or the first week of February. Customers will be able to purchase the Squared first from their local hobby shop.

X-Factory appoints new Team Manager

X-Factory have announced the appointment of Paul Sinclair to the position of Race Team Manager. Already the Chief Engineer, Paul will now handle both positions. “So much of our engineering work comes through the Team that it makes sense to do both those positions,” said Paul. “I’m in daily contact with most of the drivers already, and of course we discuss competition-related things as well as new designs, so this really won’t be much additional work.” Company President Chazz said, “Sales of the X-60, released in December, have been spectacular, taking all my time, and now we’re working hard to bring the X-6 Squared onto the market. X Factory sales have taken off in the past year, and I’ve got so much to do that I often am unable to handle Team-related issues on a timely basis. I’m so happy that Paul is relieving me of those responsibilities. Our race Team is in capable hands and will be much better served.”
