Reedy TC Race of Champions - Announcement

Reedy, Tamiya America, and Scotty Ernst Productions are proud to announce that after a five-year absence, the Reedy International Touring Car Race of Champions will return to the Tamiya America circuit May 22-25, 2014. Entries open February 24th at noon PST exclusively on www.RCSignup.com. Due to time constraints and to maintain the world-class nature of the event, Open class entries are limited to 13.5 Blinky (ROAR ESC and motor list) and Modified with total entries capped at 160 (100 13.5, 60 Modified). Each driver is limited to one entry. To allow everyone an opportunity to be a part of the 2014 Reedy Touring Car Race of Champions, a lottery drawing for the Open classes will be conducted on March 17th, with the first 100 13.5 and 60 Modified entries drawn securing a place in the event.

Josh Pain doubles at 2014 Tasmanian EP off-road titles

The first major race on the Australian electric off-road calendar has been run and won, with a nationals quality field and a very challenging track. Josh Pain took the TQ in both 2WD and 4WD modified classes and the Yokomo driver then went on to win the 2WD class by taking A1 and A2 leaving Sam Wells and Matt Tied fighting for the runner-up spot. At the end it was Sam who ended in second while Matt settled for third spot. 4WD was a different affair with some tight battles coming from second place driver Chris Sturdy and third place driver Matt Griffin. All three drivers gained a win in the three finals, with Josh and Chris both having a win and a second, the tie break going to the fasted winning time. Josh just edged out Chris by 2 seconds to get the overall win and claim the prestigious Dual Tasmanian titles along with some vital Worlds Qualifier points that should help toward Japan in 2015.

2014 Euro Indoor Race 1/8th Edition – Report

The popular Euro Indoor Race at the Black Country Arena in Belgium this year was split into two separate race weekends with a 1/10th race three weeks ago and a second event that saw the running of the 1/8th E-buggy class along 2WD and 4WD Short Course Trucks. In the 1/8 race Nicolas Risser (Team C) took the win in front of Team C teammate Tom Maquel. Nicolas Hammerton (Mugen) came in third. In the 2WD SC class Marc Schiling (Team C) came in first while Sascha Hengen (Team C) and Patrice Roussel finished second and third respectively. In the 4WD Short Course class Thierry Mathieu (Tekno) successfully ended the race while Sascha Hengen (Team C) and Patrice Roussel again filled up the remaining podium spots again.

Paulo Lourenço wins 1/8th at Pernambucano Champs

The second round of the Pernambucano Championship took place last weekend. Serpent’s Paulo Lourenço took the win in the 1/8th on-road class from his Serpent/Novarossi teammates Cleyton Lima and Antônio Vilaça. In the 1/8th GT class Cleyton Lima took the win with his Serpent Cobra GT.

International Romanian Nitro Cup – Announcement

The Hobby Arena track have announced a change of date for the 2014 International Romanian Nitro Cup. After a first successful running of the on-road nitro meeting the second annual race will has been moved to the weekend of the 29th to 31st of August, again at the amazing Frumusani track near Bucharest. The IRNC will be run in 1/8th and 1/10th 200mmm on-road classes with the podium places await cash prices. More information can be found here.

2014 Super Cup Championship Series Rd2 – Report

It was a perfect South Florida Valentines weekend at Coral Springs Raceway for round 2 of the JConcepts Super Cup Championship Series. Drivers began to arrive Thursday evening for an early start on Friday morning’s practice day. One by one they took to the track to find that perfect setup on the nicely flowing outdoor clay battleground. Practice closed early on Friday for the track crew to make final preparations for Saturdays show. Early Saturday morning, the final pit spaces filled quickly and 180 entries were ready to start racing.

Lorenzo Crolla wins 7th GP of Angouleme

The seventh running of the GP of Angouleme in France attracted around 120 drivers. The race was heavily affected by rain during Saturday’s qualification but the main’s Sunday was dry, making for better racing conditions. Coming from the third place on the grid Lorenro Crolla was able to take the lead only two minutes into the final and then the young man never looked back taking the win in front of Monin Renaud and Richard Corentin.

Mikael Johansson doubles at VBC Race Rd4

The 4th round of the Swedish VBC Race took place in Viskafors. Mikael Johansson took the TQ with his Xray XB4 2wd in front of Christoffer Svensson’s Kyosho RB6 and TLR’s Otto Ausfelt. Mikael then went on to win A1 and A2 to secure the win in the 2WD Buggy class from Otto Ausfelt and Team C’s Oskar Levin. In 4WD Mikael Johansson topped the time sheets in practise and was also able to take the overall TQ in front of Team Associated’s Niclas Mansson and Otto Ausfelt. Niclas then won A1 in front of Otto while the two also had an epic battle in the second A-final. In A3 Mikael was able to cruise to the win with much less hassle. Otto Ausfelt finished second once again and Niclas secured the last podium spot. 8-year old Malin Karlsen impressed many with her driving and finished on 8th place in her first ever VBC race.
