Fastom, owner of Motonica, Xtyres and Vox brands, have released a new body shell for 1/8th scale on road competition cars. Based on the Peugeot 908 (EFRA 31516), this body shell, developed in collaboration with young Italian driver Nicola Marrone, was presented for the first time last week at Locorotondo Warm Up ending up second thanks to Dario Balestri’s Motonica.

Following the introduction of the new forward cockpit Bull dog shell from Pro-Line, that made its debut at the recent Silver State race, it seems that this and other new body shell designs was a step too far for ROAR. The US governing body have today announced that they will begin to approve buggy shells for sanctioned events, something they haven’t done previously, in order to maintain a resemblance to “those used in full-scale off-road and stadium racing”. One could question how much conventional RC buggy and truggy resemble full size race cars, but rules are rules and ROAR believe that these new body shell designs are not in the spirit of the rules and so are clamping down.

Team Associated have made available the B4.1 body and wing in a clear unpainted version. This new shell features Interceptor 2.0 styling along with unique side scoops that give plenty of room for electronics and can be opened up for cooling vents in hot weather. Xceed have released this 1/10 scale 200mm Stratus body shell.
