Mugen MRX6R 1/8th nitro on-road kit

Mugen have released first images and information on their new MRX6R 1/8th scale nitro on-road kit. The evolution of the successful MBX6 will offer greater durability, more traction and improved mid-corner steering and it builds on a redesigned aluminium chassis with an additional carbon fibre tray to fit balance weights underneath the tank area. The chassis was used at the 2017 World Championship in France where it has proven its performance with a podium finish. Also new is the multi-bearing clutch system whose design improves bearing life while the optimised clutch bell surface treatment, in combination with a new clutch shoe material, enhances durability and acceleration. In the rear the kit utilises new longer lower suspension arms for improved traction and drivability while up front a redesigned radio tray improves mid-corner steering thanks to a new shape and the ability to fine-tune the flex characteristics. Another new part is the updated front bumper that offers increased body shell durability and better ground clearance and last but not least comes a floating battery mount that utilises rubber grommets for less influence in natural chassis flex. No word yet on the kit’s release date but it is expected to hit shops soon.
