Honest Kyosho Spada Options

Japanese firm, Honest, have released a number of new front geometry option parts for the Kyosho Spada. Starting with these lower front carbon fibre wishbones and spacers, that are said to stiffen the front of the car up as well as provide more traction. The use of plastic inserts ensures that the movement of the kingpin remains smooth. Also new are a set of front and rear carbon spacers to go under the car’s bearing blocks to help adjust the ride height of the car.

Tamiya TRF801X Competition truggy

More new products from the RCX show in California as US Magazine RCCA spotted a new competition truggy on the Tamiya stand. Named the TRF801X, this is still a concept car and as such there is little more concrete information known about it other than it will be aimed squarely at the competition market. It looks that Tamiya has perhaps smartly skipped the over crowded buggy market to get a head start on the still emerging truggy market.

Castle Creations 1/8th Brushless system

Shown on the stand of Castle Creations at this weekends RCX show in Califronia, is the company’s latest product, a brushless system for 1/8th scale buggies. The prototype at the show is shown fitted to a Kyosho Inferno and not only includes the electrics, such as the speedo and the motor, but also comes with the 2 chassis side plates that incorporate mounts for the systems twin battery packs.

Serpent 960-08 OS1 Upgrade set

New from Serpent, for owners of the 960-07, comes this upgrade set to bring your 1/8th scale chassis up to the latest 2008 specification. Supplied with the latest instruction manual, the set includes the new-machined chassis plate, as well as a front and rear upgrade set. The rear upgrade set includes the latest upper and lower wishbones as well as the new uprights and a-arms and the set also comes with the new axle bearings and other required hardware. The front upgrade set features the new front bearing blocks, lower wishbones, new anti-roll bar mounts and the lower hinge pins. The front and rear upgrade sets are also available to buy separately. Xray T2 Anti-Roll Bars

New for the Xray T2, T2R, T2’007 and T2’008 are a complete range of optional front and rear anti-roll bars. Black in colour and marked with laser-engraved lines for easy identification, the front now has a 1.3mm, 1.5mm and a 1.8mm available, while the rear has a 1.1mm, 1.3mm and 1.5mm.

Protoform R9-F & Corvett C6-R shells

Protoform have unveiled their latest line of sedan bodies at this weeks RCX Show. The all-new R9-F (above) is a Global Body Spec ready race body specifically for carpet/foam racing and features a low centre of gravity even at the legal 115mm height. For those club racers that like to run their bodies low, it’s designed to be quite “slam-able” without clearance issues. Also new from the US company is a Corvette C6-R, designed for the all-new on-road 200mm pan car category class. This class will feature GT style (front engine 2 door) coupes like the Viper and Aston Martin etc. and the first release from PF is the all-conquering Corvette C6-R body. Pulled in .030 lexan it comes with an aggressive ‘Gurney lipped’ wing, decal sheet and wing hardware.
