JConcepts RC10B3 authentic buggy body shell

JConcepts have introduced their authentic Team Associated RC10B3 body shell. Team Associated released the RC10B3 during the 1997 IFMAR World Championships. Quietly, during the span of 1995 through 1997, Area 51 worked on the follow-up design to the successful RC10 platforms with a major release scheduled during the high-profile event. One of the improvements or updates made to the design was the body shell. The event took place at the legendary Ranch Pit Shop in Pomona, California, and ultimately Brian Kinwald claimed his 2nd IFMAR title. After the triple A-mains, Masami Hirosaka placed 3rd overall and other B3 drivers such as Mark Pavidis, Scott Hughes, Mark Francis and Jason Ruona also made the A-final with their new prototypes. JConcepts, with approval from Team Associated, have reintroduced the genuine RC10B3 body shell to the masses. This allows the faithful to recreate, rebuild and race with authentically styled bodies from the heyday of competitive rear bias cab, back closure buggy bodies. A lot of work went into making this project a reality and thankfully, Team Associated preserved the iconic mold from the 1997 race year. JConcepts was able to restore older generation construction and with a blend of today’s materials, the RC10B3 body is back out on the market. The B3 kit body was one of last 2WD buggies to include a body that featured a closure or back portion of the shell under the rear wing and protection above the transmission. These details were preserved and highlighted, and the body is drop-fit to a generation of Team Associated vehicles from the 3 platform era. Each package includes window mask, 5.5” rear wing and clear polycarbonate body.

RC-Cox have introduced their new long arm only carbon fibre chassis for the Xray T4 2020 touring car. The original T4’20 chassis offers the possibility to run the new-for-2020 long arm or pre-2020 standard short suspension arms, with the RC-Cox chassis only allowing the long arm setup, scrapping the optional arm block positions which makes the chassis more durable in the event of a heavy impact. The main plate is machined from high-quality 2.2mm carbon fibre and it is available from now on.

Serpent Cobra SRX8 GTe LWB kit

Serpent have announced the release of their Cobra SRX8 GTe LWB long wheelbase 1/8th electric on-road kit. Designed specifically for the more realistic, licensed bodies that look like full scale racing cars, the LWB version of the GTe uses the same proven suspension geometry and drivetrain, while the updated battery mounting position provides even better weight distribution, allowing for multiple LiPo configurations whilst enhancing the handling performance. The core of the chassis is a 7075-T6 aluminium main that utilises the minimum possible kick-up angle to comply with ROAR and IFMAR rules while aluminium suspension mounts ensure very wide caster angle, toe and anti-squat adjustments. Additional roll centre shims further increase the setting range while black and silver all-aluminium bulkheads, centre diff mounts, motor mount and motor plate create a very sturdy chassis backbone. The overall design enables the racer to extract the front and rear differentials as well as the centre spool in a matter of seconds while allowing for four different differential height positions.

Traxxas Maxx LED light kit

Coming from Traxxas is a new LED light kit for the Maxx 4WD monster truck. Built to handle brutal real-world punishment, this light kit is waterproof and built Traxxas Tough for maximum fun. The included high voltage amplifier packs the muscle to efficiently power the high-power light bar, while minimising losses from excessive current and heat. The tightly regulated output provides stable lighting performance, without flickering or dimming as the battery voltage changes. The smart brake lights work when brakes are applied in both forward and reverse directions. This eliminates the common and annoying problem with generic aftermarket systems that turn on the brake lights while reversing. Wiring is simple: Plug the main connector from the power amplifier into the power port on the Traxxas VXL-4s electronic speed control, and then plug the individual lighting modules into the power amplifier. Drivers can switch between three manual lighting modes on the power amplifier, such as high beam and low beam, or use the Traxxas Link app and #6511 Wireless Module to control individual lights remotely and create custom lighting configurations. The set includes the front and rear LED bars, replacement bumpers with LED cutouts, an 8-channel amplifier and mounting hardware.
