Fastrax have added new moulded inserts for 1/10 scale Short Course trucks to their growing range of tyre accessories. Especially made for Traxxas Slash and HPI Blitz wheels that require stepped inserts with two different inner diameters.

New from Pro-Line come closed cell 2WD buggy front tyre inserts and the Titus 1.9″ black bead-loc wheels for 1/18 scale crawlers. We showed you a preview picture of the tyre inserts some time ago an now they finally become available. Designed for tracks that need a slightly firmer insert, the long lasting foam is water safe, reusable and has the correct shape for 2WD front tyres. With the Titus 1.9″ bead-loc front or rear wheels Pro-Line offers a one-sided rim for 1/18 or 1/10 rock crawlers with 12mm hex to fit most mini and scale models.

Pro-Line have send us a pic of their soon-to-be-released closed cell inserts for 1/10 2WD front tyres. The reusable lightweight inserts come balanced and are waterproof for maximum durability even in the worst possible track conditions.

Available soon are Pro-Line’s new Revolver 2.0 VTR truck tyre, VTR closed cell truck inserts and the new Blockade 1/8 scale buggy tyre. The Revolver 2.0 VTR 4.0” Off-Road 1/8 truck tyre is based on the original Revolver, which won the 2008 IFMAR World Championships at the Farm 2, in North Carolina. Subtle changes were made to the tread design that have resulted in better traction and faster lap times on a variety of racing surfaces. Available in Pro-Line’s M2 medium, M3 soft and M4 super soft rubber. Designed for the use with Pro-Line’s VTR line of 1/8 scale competition truck tyres are the updated VTR closed cell truck inserts. The inserts perfectly fit the shape of the tyre meaning no air gaps for a better support of the tyre and also a longer life of the insert even in harsh racing condition. The balanced and 100 percent water safe donuts are of a light weight and designed for tracks that desire a firmer insert. The Blockade 1/8 scale buggy tyre was seen before and finally hits the production status. The ROAR National title winning tyre features large lugs for extended tread life, a balanced tread spacing for optimised forward traction and a unique side tread.

After extensive testing with molded grooved foam inserts, Sweep Racing have focused their efforts on the development of new closed cell foam inserts. Closed cell foam inserts have many performance benefits over conventional designs, such as increased durability, waterproof, reduced tire deformation during cornering and lighter in weight. These characteristics make their Cloud 9 buggy insert a major improvement over their previous designs. Sweep drivers have reported increased cornering capability and improved acceleration. The Cloud 9 inserts are scheduled to arrive at dealers very soon.

AKA have announced the update of all their current 1:10 SC tire and insert combos with their new red insert. The fluted I.D. of the soft red insert allows it to absorb the heavy hits while still having enough internal structure to retain it’s shape and stiffness in the turns to keep corner speeds up. The result is more consistent handling on a wider variety of surfaces with less compromise. R-Line tire and insert combos will be replacing their current tire and insert combo tires and they will be discontinuing the older numbers as supplies run out.

AKA have announced the release of their new R-Line pre-mounted 1:8 Buggy tires and the update of their current 1:8 Buggy and 1:10 SC tires. AKA’s new R-Line Evo pre-mounts feature AKA’s World Championship winning Evo wheel which combined with the stiffener disc claims to be the most technically advanced wheel on the market today. The Evo pre-mount also features AKA’s new soft red insert which was used by Cody King along with the Evo wheel to win last November’s World Championships. While at the Dirt Nitro Challenge we were given a sneak look at the soon to be released soft SC closed cell inserts. After extensive testing with Pro Short Course drivers like Ryan Cavalieri, they found that a softer insert is desirable in racing conditions. Like all of Pro-Line’s closed cell foam, this insert is ultra-durable, water-proof and shaped to exactly match the profile of the tires.
