Borja Hernandez confirmed at Mugen

Borja Hernandez’s much anticipated move to Mugen has been officially confirmed today by Mugen Spain. The former World Finalist and 2 time European Championship podium finisher’s move has the support of both Mugen Japan and Mugen Europe and will boost the Spaniard’s prospect for the important 2010 World Championship season. Hernandez leaves GS Racing after just a single season with the Taiwanese manufacturer that resulted in him claiming the runners-up spot in the hotly contested Spanish National Championship. Hernandez who signed for RB engines 12 months ago will continue with the French company for 2010.

Cornella joins LMI Racing

LMI Racing have announced that former Serpent designer Rene Cornella will join their team for 2010. The deal is a positive one for both parties as they each have ties with onroad nitro chassis newcomer Edam. Cornella signed for the Taiwanese company earlier this season as a team driver and LMI are German distributors for Edam’s 1:8 and 1:10 products. As part of the deal the Austrian will be supplied with a range of products from LMI Racing and in addition to racing the EDAM 1:8 Razor Pro and 1:10 Spirit will race the new F1-09 1:10 Formula car from 3racing.

Team C sign D’Hondt

Team C have announced that they are to supply 1:8 Onroad World Finalist Robin D’hondt with tools for the 2010 season. The Belgian, who is the current German and Belgian National Champion, will use the company’s professional tool range, tool bag and car bag as part of his 2010 campaign with the factory Motonica team.

Richi Gomez to run Boss engines in 2010

SchepisModel have announced that they have made an agreement with the Spanish 1:8 offroad driver Richi Gomez. Richi will race the 2010 Spanish Nationals and other International competitions, including next November’s World Championships in Thailand, using the new Boss engines which has been designed and tuned by Mario Rossi.

Kevin Lee teams up with Vampire Racing

Vampire Racing have welcomed Kevin Lee to their racing team. As a European A finalist and winner of the BRCA 2wd National at Eden Park Raceway in 2009, he will use the entire Vampire Racing product range for 2010, and have direct input in the development of new Vampire Racing products for the upcoming season.

Raimondo Gilletti joins Savox Team

Savox have signed a deal with Team Magic factory driver Raimondo Gilletti to run with their Servos next season. Very pleased with the deal given to him by Savoxtech in Taiwan, Raimondo is happy to use Savox’s high quality products in his car and is looking forward to help promote the brand in Europe. Raimondo will use Savox SC-1251 low profile servos in his Novarossi powered Team Magic.

John Ermen joins RB for 2010

RB Products in France have announced that they have signed multiple Dutch National Champion John Ermen to their team. The former Novarossi driver, and European ‘B’ Championship runner up, will use the company’s Circuit 9 engine and associated accessories in his Serpent 966 chassis for the 2010 season and had the following to say:

I’ve been cooperating, promoting, testing & developing with a lot of professional companies over the years in the 1/8th scale onroad market and I’m really looking forward to working with the RB team in 2010. See you on the track side!

Paul Lemieux switch to Thunder Power RC confirmed

Having raced for his new sponsors at the KO Grand Prix last weekend, Thunder Power RC have confirmed the signing of Paul Lemieux to their team, bringing with him 13 years of RC racing experience. Among his many career highlights Paul currently holds seven on-road championship titles in electric touring car, electric modified touring car, nitro sedan and many other classes. His impressive career accomplishments include multi-time Snowbirds, Cleveland Indoor, US Touring Car, IIC Modified Touring Car and ROAR National Championship titles, along with multi-time IFMAR Worlds A-Finalist rankings. Paul brings speed, passion and the ability to not only represent Thunder Power RC by using, supporting and promoting products at races world-wide, but will also assist in the development and testing of many new TPRC products.

I joined Team Thunder Power RC after seeing how they and their products have performed in RC racing over the past year. Knowing TPRC’s history and stronghold in the RC aircraft and helicopter LiPo battery and charger markets, I know they are going to continue to bring new technology, knowledge and experience to the car market. With my experience and passion for racing and joining Team TPRC, I will have the ability to test and race using the latest in LiPo battery and charger technology.
