Xray sign Edward Callan

Xray have announced the signing of British Junior National Champion Edward Callan to their UK racing team. The BRCA F2 National Champion and Worksop Masters winner will campaign Xray’s XB2 and XB4 platforms at all BRCA National as well as select European events and he has the following to say:

I’m extremely excited to join Team Xray as they’ve launched the latest spec XB2 & XB4 cars. I’m looking forward to settling in with my new team mates and hitting the track with the new cars over the winter season and at the BRCA Nationals and the EFRA European Championships held here in the UK next summer. Salven calls time on WC career

Michael Salven has called time on his World Championship racing career, one of nitro onroad racing’s best known figures made the announcement that having made his World Championship debut in California in 1987, that the 22nd running of the IFMAR 1:8 Worlds here in Fontana, California was the right time to take a step back from racing.  The 58 year-old German, who has enjoyed all of his professional career with Serpent, a company which was instrumental in the early development of the class, Salven bowed out of the Worlds competition here this morning at Steel City RC Speedway when he failed to finish the 1/16th finals.  Asked about his decision, he said, ‘The Pro guys turn up with everything sorted. I turned up here with three engines that still needed to be run in and it turned out none of them are very good.  I will still race, I probably have a few more Euros in me, but its important I race because as the designer of our cars I need to know what’s going on’.

Jerome Sartel teams up with SWorkz

SWorkz have announced the addition of French 1/8th off-road frontrunner, Jerome Sartel to their team. The long-time TLR racer joins SWorkz both as driver and also as European team manager and he will campaign SWorkz machinery along TPro tyres at national and international events. Jerome says:

I’m really proud to join Sworkz as their European team manager! Their quality products, great racing spirit, in addition to their motivation to bring satisfaction to customers makes me think it was the right choice. Kilic brothers team up with Mugen

Mugen Seiki Europe have announced the signing of Burak and Berkan Kilic to their international racing team. The 15 and 13-years old talents are already competing at the highest level with reigning German Champion Burak being able to achieve a podium finish at this year’s European Championship in Italy, while Berkan became Junior European Champion. The two brothers will use Mugen’s MBX8 off-road platform and Mugen Seiki products at all major national and international events with immediate effect.

Patrick Folman joins Xray

Xray have announced the signing of multi-time Danish National Champion, Patrick Folman to their team. The former DHI Cup winner and ETS A-main finalist will campaign Xray’s T4 electric touring car platform at events such as the XRS, ETS, EFRA Euro and IFMAR World Championships and he has the following to day about the deal:

Aaron Stringer joins Serpent factory team

Serpent have announced the signing of Australian 1/8th off-road frontrunner, Aaron Stringer to their factory team. A former long-time Mugen pilot Aaron has joined the Serpent squad for the remainder of 2019 and beyond, campaigning Serpent buggies and trucks at all major Australian races as well as select international events.

Pelle Culmsee teams up with SWorkz

SWorkz have announced the addition of multi-time Danish National Champion, Pelle Culmsee to their team. The former HB Racing pilot will campaign SWorkz’s 1/8th nitro and electric platforms at both national and international events while also relying on Picco engines and TPro tyres. This is what Pelle has to say:

Hayato Matsuzaki leaves Yokomo

Former IFMAR 2WD World Champion, Hayato Matsuzaki has announced his departure from Yokomo. Hayato spent seven years with the iconic Japanese manufacturer following a successful stint with HPI Racing. Part of the development team Hayato worked on the BD touring car and YD-2 series drift car platforms with his most recent duties being team mechanic for Yokomo drivers such as Ronald Völker. The departure of Hayato means another set back for Yokomo who are currently undergoing a restructuring process following the recent leave of founder and president, Tom Yokobori. This is what Hayato has to say about his departure:
