Coelho from Volker in Q1

Bruno Coelho has TQ’d the opening round of qualifying at the Yokomo Euro Touring Series in Luxembourg. The championship leader topped the times by just 0.135 of a second from reigning champion Ronald Volker with this year’s other title contender Marc Rheinard completing the Top 3. For Rheinard it initially looked like his opening qualifier would amount to nothing as his transponder failed to register once the qualifier started but in a sporting gesture from his rivals in the top heat they agreed to allow a manual correction of the result to reflect his P3 position on the track when he crossed the finish line.

Marc Fischer joins Capricorn

Marc Fischer joins Capricorn

Capricorn have announced the signing of former Serpent racer Marc Fischer to drive the brand’s LAB TE03 for the rest of the season, which includes the World Championships taking place in Beijing in August. The German, who is making his race debut for his new sponsor at this weekend’s 5th round of the Euro Touring Series in Luxembourg said for 2017 we may also see him racing the Italian company’s gas powered vehicles at select events.

Loran Whiting teams up with Serpent

Serpent have announced the signing of female U.S. racer, Loran Whiting to their team. Loran will focus on 1/10th scale nitro and electric racing but she will also campaign Serpent’s 1/8th on-road cars and 1/10th buggies at selected events. The former Capricorn racer had the following to say about the deal:

 I am incredibly lucky and thankful to be given the opportunity to race with Serpent. They are a world-class company with a great team. Xray have announced the signing of young swedish talent, Alexander Landen to their junior racing program. The 10-years old will race 1/10th electric off-road at events such as the EOS, the WBC races, the Swedish National Cup and more and he has the following to say about the deal:

I am very happy for this opportunity and I am of course very proud. I have been running Xray cars for the last 2 years with a great success. The quality and attention to details in the products are top notch and the performance and reliability of the products are superior. With the recent release of the new 2WD platform we believe the Xray overall package currently is the strongest in the 1/10 off road racing market on all surfaces. Therefore this seems as a perfect time to join a very successful team and I will do my best to represent the team.

John Spencer teams up with PR Racing UK

PR Racing UK and Inside Line Racing have announced that top UK RC driver John Spencer is joining the team to run the 4WD PRSB401 buggy. John is well known on the European RC racing scene being a BRCA National A-finalist and multiple European top 20 finisher. As the DMS Racing shop manager he has loads of day to day experience to offer to the PR UK team and racers in general regarding set ups and improving your lap times.

Christopher Krapp joins Schumacher off-road team

Schumacher have announced the signing of German frontrunner, Christopher Krapp to their off-road race team. Although better known for touring cars, Christopher is also a World class off-road driver, having achieved podium finishes at the EOS and also German Nationals. Christopher will be competing in both 2WD and 4WD classes and he is sure to add great strength to the team and Schumacher looks forward to having him on board. Christopher had this to say:

I would like to thank Schumacher Racing and especially Muz and Robin for putting the trust in me and giving me the opportunity to restart my off road campaign again! Schumacher is well known for their dedication in doing competition racing cars and that’s why I choose to use their off road cars! Tyler Jones signs with LRP

Tyler Jones signs with LRP

Up and coming US racer, Tyler Jones has joined forces with LRP to run the company’s nitro engines, brushless motors and controllers as well as using LRP chargers in his upcoming campaign. Tyler achieved a lot of titles in his young but already 7 years lasting career, such as the 2015 ROAR Jr. National Champion, qualification for the 2016 1/8 IFMAR Worlds, a 2nd place in Pro Nitro Buggy at the AMS 5.0 and he was A-finalist in all three Pro A-Mains at the 2015 CRCRC Midwest Championships.
