Tebo signs for 2 more years at Team Orion

Jared Tebo has re-signed with Team Orion for another 2 years through to the end of 2014. This will be Tebo’s 5th and 6th consecutive year with Team Orion. Over the past 4 years with Team Orion, Tebo has recorded 7 ROAR National Championships along with many other major wins. Team Orion team manager Joe Pillars has this to say, “Four years ago we were looking to expand our Race Team with another big name driver. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect with the news that Jared was available. Tebo has helped build Team Orion’s electric and nitro race program and we cant wait for the next 2 years”

Maifield & Hartson win KO Propo offroad champs

The third annual KO Propo Off-Road Championship was held at beautiful West Coast R/C Raceway in La Mirada, California.  Over 200 entries from across the country descended upon the Southern California facility to vie for the titles.  This event also served as a great warm-up to the Reedy International Off-Road Race of Champions to be held at the same facility later in January.

Schumacher sign McGee & re-sign Grainger & Hofer

Schumacher Racing would like to welcome Danny McGee back to their off road team. Danny has been racing at the highest level for several years and has won several British national races. Last year he finished 3rd in 4WD and 10th in 2WD in the highly competitive British championship. Danny will be a top contender in 2013 with the Cougar SV2 and the new CAT K1 buggies. In other driver news Schumacher are pleased to announce two of their top On Road drivers have also signed new deals. 2012 Worlds ‘A’ finalist & multi British Champion Chris Grainger and ETS front runner Martin Hofer have re-signed and are greatly looking forward to racing at the highest level and assisting them with development of new products.

Dustin Evans extends Team Orion deal

Team Orion factory driver Dustin Evans has re-signed with the Swiss company through 2013. This will be Evans’s 3rd consecutive year with Team Orion and over the past 2 years, Evans was able to capture his 1st ROAR National Championship at NorCal Hobbies in Union City, CA in 2011 as well as countless other races with Team Orion including the prestigious Invitational Class Overall at the Reedy International Off-Road Race of Champions in 2011. Team Orion USA Team Manager Joe Pillars says, “Dustin has been a big piece of the puzzle for Team Orion’s electric off-road program. Dustin has been great to work with and testing new products that we use today”.

JConcepts Super Cup Series #1 report

Space Coast R/C of Cocoa, FL, played host to round 1 of the 2013 JConcepts Super Cup Series. Race 1 of the New Year is something special as everyone is back from the Holidays and itching to get back to racing (many with new cars or equipment). The first race is also when the series banquet kicks off the New Year by celebrating the previous year’s points championships as everyone receives their well deserved awards while letting loose away from the track. The banquet was amazing with plenty of prizes handed out from the series sponsors, video comedy sketches, and gift cards throughout the event. Thank you to the following people who help put this banquet together; Matt Mosieur, Rich Muller, Fred Reep, Jason Ruona, and Allison Ruona. Special thanks to Cheryl Shiver for her amazing photos.

Team HB re-sign Andy Moore for 9th season

2006 ISTC World Champion Andy Moore has re-signed with Team HB for the 2013 season. Coming off a strong 2012 season, including a 4th place finish at the IFMAR 1/10th IC World Championships, Andy will be looking for more success in 2013. Andy will be campaigning the HB TCXX and R10 platforms for the upcoming season. He had this to say:

I’m excited to get racing in 2013 after a successful 2012 with both the TCXX and the new R10. This will be my 9th year running for team HB/HPI and I’d like to thank Tatsuro Watanabe and Hiro Kasuya for their continued support. As always I will be at most of the big on road races this year and look forward to seeing everyone at the track.

Felipe Franceschi wins 2012 Brazilian title

The 1/10 Electric Brazilian Championship was held on the CAAR track recently and the weather on Saturday was very challenging. Early in the morning the track was prepared and ready for the start, but later in the morning it rained, so the track had to be dried out again before the first free practise. Soon after the free practise it startes to rain again. Because of the quickly changing weather conditions only 2 out of 4 heats were held.

Ryan Cavalieri re-signs with Team Orion

More driver signings with Team Orion confirming that current IFMAR 2wd & 4wd Buggy World Champion Ryan Cavalieri will remain with Team Orion through 2014. This will be Cavalieri’s 8th and 9th consecutive year with Team Orion and both parties couldn’t be more excited. Over the past 7 years with Team Orion, Cavalieri has recorded an impressive 15 ROAR National Championships and 2 IFMAR World Championships along with countless other wins. Team Orion USA Team Manager Joe Pillars says, “Its great to have Ryan on our Team for another 2 years. Ryan and I go way back, we have built a solid and trusting relationship that has worked very well. I cant wait to see what the next 2 years brings”.
