British Indoor Winter Series – Announcement

Back by popular demand is the World Famous BIWS series that was such a major part of the UK Touring Car racing scene in the 2000’s. Top drivers who have graduated from this series include Andy Moore, Elliott Harper, Olly Jefferies, Ben Cosgrove, Jimmy Maddison and Jonny Bowden to name just a few. The BIWS series has always been the fastest indoor winter series in the UK always allowing the latest technology to flourish with a laid back set of rules designed to encourage fun and close competitive racing. We race on a blue rubber floor which offers very similar grip levels to tarmac. BIWS were amongst the first to adopt LiPo batteries and brushless motors into a major competitive series, not to mention the fact that it is an absolute equal series for everyone as no additives are allowed at all. Moore-Speed tyres have been chosen as the control tyre with 1 set per driver per meeting regulation. This year sees the return of the Modified Touring Car Class which should simply be breath taking to watch the some of the UK if not the Worlds best drivers competing for the glory of being the BIWS Champion. The series starts October 21st 2012 and ends on the 10th of February 2013. Full information including entry details and rules can be found here.

Tecrace RC win 12 hours of MBRC

Team Tecrace RC have won the 12 hours electric buggy endurance race hosted by the Belgian MBRC club. Weather conditions proofed to be very difficult with loads of wind and rain meaning a muddy and bumpy track for the competitors. Tecrace RC raced the new Tekno RC EB48 buggy powered by a Toto 120A ESC and Leopard motor for the first time and won some 12 laps ahead of Team Gladiators (Kyosho MP9E/Hobbywing/Kypom) and Team Tecrace RC 2 (V4/MBX6/Toro/Leopard/Tecpower).

2012 Super Cup Championship Series Rd1

The site for the JConcepts Super Cup Championship Series Fall Session race 1 was FZRC Raceway in Sarasota, Florida. Marty Chilton owner of FZRC and his crew put a tremendous effort into the track creating a one of a kind tent enclosure to help protect the track from inclement weather. Fortunately, Mother Nature was on our side and the tent was pulled back for the second round and main events. With 150 entries the competition was fierce with many of the A-main wins being determined by tenths of a second. In Modified Buggy Mr. JConcepts himself Jason Ruona dominated taking TQ and the win with Leon McIntosh taking the second place spot. JR Mitch came in third only three tenths of a second behind.

Xray Challenge Italy – Announcement

Xray Italy in cooperation with Sprint RC invites all Xray drivers to come to the Xray Challenge Italy in Roma on the Weekend of the 2nd of September. Run at the Xclub Modelismo 2002 track in 1/10th electric touring modified and 13.5T stock classes on Sorex hand out tires. Find more information here.

Søren Boy Holst is Danish national champion

After four races on three different tracks all over Denmark, the national Danish touring car outdoor championship would be decided in fifth and final race at the track of Vejle, in the Western part of Denmark some 250km from the capital Copenhagen. Practice on Saturday was washed away by the rain but at least the sun came out in the early evening giving the drivers the chance to get at least some four or five runs. Sunday again was affected by the weather and changing track conditions. The 15 SuperStock drivers spend a lot of time on changing tires, waterproofing the car, and thinking about new strategies.

Ty Tessmann takes ROAR 1/8th EP title

Ty Tessman, the current ROAR 1/8th Nitro Buggy and Truggy National Champion, added another championship to his resume, 2012 ROAR 1/8th Electric Buggy National Champion. Ty took his new Hot Bodies D12 platform, equipped it with the Tekno RC V4 Chassis and went on to completely dominate the competition. He TQ’d every round of qualifying and won the first two A Mains of the triple main format, allowing him to sit out A3. The balance of the Tekno RC chassis with the new suspension package of the D12 and Ty’s incredible driving ability was the exact combination for success against some of the best drivers in the world. Jesse Robbers and Tyler Vik also made the A Main using Tekno RC V4 chassis with their new Hot Bodies D12 platform.

Bultynck secures Belgian title as Joosens wins Rd7

For the last race of the Belgian touring car season the drivers went to Genk. It was marvellous weather and everything was still open in the Efra and Stock classes. Thomas Stockman wanted to be the new champion and already had a splendid year in the nationals. But it was Olivier Bultynck who set the pace and took TQ in front of Nick Joosens and Thomas Stockman. Patrick Jongenelis an Gerrit Van Swijgenhoven took fourth an fifth place on the grid. Olivier was very fast at this track and was on the run for his fourth title in a row. In the first final Ollie went away from the rest and secured his win. Behind him Nick was in a fight with Thomas. Thomas took second place for a short time but Nick came back and took second place. Thomas came in as third just behind Nick.

Elliot Harper wins BRCA TC series Rd4

In winning round four of the BRCA 1:10 electric touring car series at Snetterton Tamiya’s Elliott Harper became the fourth different winner from four events, his win sets up a winner takes all championship showdown at the final round at Mendip in a month’s time. After five rounds of qualifying it was the Associated TC6.1 of Olly Jefferies that took TQ, but in putting himself on pole Olly had used all his tyres allocation, second place on the grid was championship favourite Chris Grainger, Grainger could have wrapped up the 2012 title if he could win here, Harper lined up third on the grid.
